  1. Hey, looking for some help or guidance ... Drove my 2000 reg 1.4 MPI seat arosa to my mum's yesterday morning no problems, went out for the day, later that evening car wouldn't idle. It starts but as soon as I let go of the key it dies I have a inclin it's the ignition switch as it seems like the key is returning on itself when I let go, if I put the key in, start it and hold it in position it runs, I've turned the car round by holding onto the key but as soon as I let go it stalls. Is my inclin on the right track? Looking at getting a new ignition switch but have read on other topics that you need to remove the barrel and drill it out to get to the switch? Also is the switch coded? If I get another switch will my coded key work?? Thanks in advance
  2. Im in witham in my bright yellow arosa, as from next weekend I will have bright pink mk2 golf steel wheels .... Easily spotted wave if you see me fellow dubbers! Hoping to be welcomed into the VW scene as I'm quite new, I'm bringing my Rosie to renegade dubs at seabrights barn next Wednesday, hopefully spec some Lupos there too?
  3. B-E-A -utiful!!! Love the indicators! Prefer the Recaro's glad you put them back in and install is awesome! Given me sooooooo many ideas for bodywork, anyone know of a tree that grows money - as I am lacking in friends that own bodyshops lol! Just out of interest have you done any mods to mechanics or just happy to sit standard and pretty?
  4. The bonus's of being old, with regards to cheap insurance I cant wait to be old with regards to wrinkles etc I'm not so much looking forward to it! lol!
  5. Oiiii!! I got nice TRS tow strap on my arosa, call me chavvy (which I'm not!) but its the only addition I can afford at the moment! I did get someone ask if I broke down often as mine is mounted at the front . . . . woopps, I say its to drag me to the start line of a 1/4 mile strip Welcome Holly pictures pleassee!!
  6. Phhheeeww! Who are you guys insuring your cars with!!??! 20 years old, 3 years no claims but also 3 points for speeding, 1.4 seat arosa, £750 a year with all the legal cover, window screen cover and I pay monthly too which always puts it up! I'm not fully comp though and my female anatomy helps as well I believe my insurance is with admiral btw!
  7. Loads cheaper to do the service yourself, not hard to do at all if you don't feel confident enough to give it a go then yer a garage would be your best bet, I'm just a bit of a tight arse and would rather DIY than pay a garage lol let us know how you get on!
  8. Haaaa! Brilliant!! He just feels dirty for looking at them!! Dirtyyy Boy!
  9. Has the car got standard seats?? Sometimes the airbag light comes on if people change the seats, some random and pointless sensor I think And your running problem will probably be sorted with a good service, air filters, oil filters, fuel lines, and maybe a set of plugs wouldnt go a miss either, good luck, keep us updated and welcome to the forum
  10. Ohhh noo!!! This poor Lupo must be so embarassed of its behind!!! What on earth made you put Lexus lights on your prettyy little loop!? Have you, by any chance, ever owned a saxo lol? Only joking Kaytee, thumbs up for trying to be different, thumbs down for doing it with lexus lights lol!
  11. Really good idea please make some female clothes too, I'm fed up of buying car t shirts in men's sizes then cutting them to make them fit! haha!
  12. Update - Sent Rosie in for repairs yesterday as a claim on neighbours insurance not mine - yayyyyyy!! And me and my fiancé are moving house too so hopefully its the last time some retard in a poxy little KA even gets close to the little lady! Got a lush 60 plate polo as a hire car, I've named him Jim, would seriously recommend them to anyone with enough money to buy a new car! Pulls so so well, sounds really nice revving round to 5000rpm (shutttt up everyone loves a good hire car, has to be done!) I was trashing down a local A-Road and found myself doing nearly 100 in just over a mile, the only thing I don't like is the ridiculously wide A-pillar, I know its cos they have curtain air-bags but it is a bit of a joke, its like a 2nd blindspot! I would also prefer it to have a sunroof too cos it feels really low in the roof, I'm only short but my dad is quite tall and said he feels cramped for head room. But the interior is smart and the seats have a sort of bucket feel too them which is cool. The sound system is excellent sounds brilliant with my Red Hot Chilli Peppers CD blasting out its plenty big enough to fit people in the back and the boot has lots of room for random **** that seems to accumulate in my car! This has turned into a bit of a review on the polo lol, I'm just so impressed with it! Can't wait to get Rosie back though then can start modding her
  13. Just an update on a serious note, borrowed a switch from a friend . . . epic fail - still not fixed it, really reluctant to get a whole new window mech but might do it cos the window is getting right on my melons cba to fix little things would rather be playing with, wheels, coilys etc!! lol
  14. Haha just seen this . . . . you think I'm joking! The lady before me that had the car --- died!! Not in it, to be fair it was absolutely nothing to do with the car. . . . she was just old . . but still ahhhhhh ghostttt? Oh dear I think I've been watching too much Paranormal Activity?!
