I was driving to work this morning, the engine started first time with no grumbles, and the battery light came on. I carried on driving and the ABS light came on, then all my dash lights went off and my headlights got really dim. I was only round the corner from work so I got there and when reversing into a space all the dash lights came back on with no warning symbols?!! What is going on? Do I need to get my mechanic out? Please help a damsel in distress Amy x

Blimey I didn't realise there were so many in the area! I've seen a silver one out by Broadway too but when I flashed at him, I was flicked the V in return so I'm assuming they're not a CL member!

Wednesday 17/03, approx 8am. Was a couple of cars back in my silver GTI travelling into Pershore from Evesham, not seen another silver one in the area before! Make yourself known!

I don't know who it is, but there's 2 knocking about Worcester area. There's one lad that works at Halfords in Evesham, who I know was at E38, and I've seen another red one whizzing about but he didn't seem happy when I flashed him! Seems to be a few of us round here!

Thanks guys, I'll give it a try. Put a new battery in at the weekend and it is still the same. Little scared about locking the car with the engine running, what if I can't get back into it??!

I don't think it is the code, if it was it wouldn't start the engine. When we bought the car the spare key didn't work, cause the kid had never used it, it needed recoding. It would unlock the doors but not start the engine.

The light flashes once for a millisecond, as if it tries to work but can't. I'll try a new battery and if it doesn't work it might be a trip to VW... Thanks

Hi all I need some knowledgeable help! My remote key has stopped working, when I press it it doesn't lock/unlock the car, I have to manually turn the key in the lock. This is fine from the drivers side and the key starts the car no problem, but if I open the passenger door or boot it sets the alarm off. The alarm stops when I start the engine. Does this mean I just need a new battery in my key or could it be something worse? I didn't want to go to the expence of having VW charge me to look at it if it is just a new battery. Thanks for your help! Amy x

Hiya Sorry to interrupt your conversation, but I saw your car at Edition, looking good! I own a silver gti Lupo too and we live in Evesham and have heard about the meets at the nightingale. Can anyone rock up? What days/times do you meet there? Also what's rubbadubz, is that a club? We were looking to start a club for Evesham area. Cheers
