  1. Evening all, Been a member of club Lupo for a number of years, owned and sold on 2 GTI's, used as a second toy in the summer only, anyhow miss the GTI, started looking again for another, found a low mileage laser blue 55 plate with 60k, current owner seems very genuine and has owned the Lupo for past 5 years, just thought I put up a post to see if anyone has any history, or maybe used to own said car, or maybe knows of this car Any help and advice much appreciated Thanks
  2. Even the newer models , as looked at a 2010, 3 cyclinder model today ?, or does it only effect older models.. Thanks
  3. What's the model, colour engine size etc.. mileage and cost Thanks
  4. Morning, Looking to purchase a runner for work, quite fancy a Fox, possibility a Lupo.. looking at both the 1.2 & 1.4 engines getting mixed reviews on the best one to go for, not really interested in speed more reliability, was pointing towards the 1.4, also wanting at least leccy windows and central locking, which would be the urban model, can anyone give some advice on what I should be looking out for, many years ago we had a 3 cyclinder polo (53 plate ) which was a great , reliable little car, any advice appreciated ( anyone selling one ?) Thanks

Thanks

  10. Make: Lupo Model: GTI MOT: May 2017 Mileage : 88k TAX: N/A Engine size: 1600cc Fuel type: petrol Location: Hamilton, Scotland Price: £3650 Hi all, 260916 - *** priced reduced from 4k to £3650, fixed price ***** Time has come for me to part with my Lupo GTI, I've owned her for around 4 years, 88k with original vw folder and all manuals, 2 keys (one a flip key) and fully stamped service booklet along with a folder full of receipts, the car is only used in the summer months and garaged throughout the winter, regularly started and moved around to stop anything seizing, polished and we'll looked after. The car is standard with no modifications, apart from the alloys wheels which I had done in anthracite, which is a perfect match with moon silver, alloys are unmarked with plenty of tread I've only covered around 3500 miles since owning the car, as I only use it in the summer for commuting to work, I would describe the condition as really good, Various parts have been replaced in my ownership car wants for nothings Front & rear discs and pads Both track control arms replaced Front ball joints Track rod ends Both inner door lock mechism Steering rack top bush Front calipers refurbished & powder coated red , rears re-painted New rear springs & shocks absorbers fitted New coil & HT leads Headlamp washer pump + spray nozzle No doubt I've missed lots, please feel free to ask any questions. I'm on no hurry to sell, private plate will be removed prior to sale and original plate with probably go back onto the car. Open to sensibly offers Many thanks
  11. Thanks m8, just toying at moment, I don't want to sound greedy, seem to getting few and far between now with lowish mileage on them..
  12. Hi all Considering selling my Lupo GTI, it's a 2002 model in rare moon silver, ive owned her for just over 3 years, ( previous owner 5 years) only used in the summer months , garaged when not in use, has covered 86k with a folder full of receipts, full service history, whilst in my possession had all suspension replaced, brakes, etc, most recent front calipers refurbished, 4 calipers repainted red, totally standard apart from alloy wheels changed to anthracite, perfect match with moon silver In my opinion it's in really good condition , inside and out, but not 100% perfect has the odd scratch and small bits of bubbles on the front wings, I'm looking to change it for an Audi TT Roadster, just sailed through its MOT last month, so much fun to drive , but then you guys all know that, most GTI's I've seen advertised seem to be over the 100k mark on the mileage side, so I guess it's got low mileage , but what's it worth ? I have a figure in my head of around 4.5k, realistically can someone give me and idea what I should get ? Many thanks
  13. Just had a go at it, couldn't wait until later, 10 minute job, easy when you know how, old one drilled out and removed, new barrel fitted.. Great people great site..many thanks
  14. Many thanks for the replies Just collected both new housing and thrush bush I'm sure it's called from local VW, will attempt to fit both tonight
  15. Morning all Can anyone advise how to remove the ignition barrel from the ignition housing, having to replace the housing as the housing bearing is worn, just struggling on how to remove the ignition barrel, any info would be much appreciated. Thanks
  16. Thanks for the info, very much appreciated, just awaiting a separator tool to remove the sleeve then I can get stuck into it. Thanks again for the part numbers
  17. Upon further inspection shaft has slight movement in all direction, seems like it is the bearing which is at fault, this will be fun to replace..
  18. Hi m8 Thanks for the comments, shall have another look at it tonight, I'll try replacing the shear bolts first, hence why it's throwing me as you said, movement would be in all directions if worn.. def worth a try, many thanks
  19. Morning all, Looking for a little advice I've got an 02 plate GTI which has covered 85k, on its last MOT they noted slight play in the steering column, steering wheel has slight movement when moved up and down, but not side to side, I was thinking its the bearing thats worn within the ignition housing , but now not so sure, just about to order a puller to remove the steering shaft sleeve, but I have this feeling it's not the bearing as surely if it was worn you would have play with up and down and side to side movement of the steering wheel, could anyone give me some pointers. I don't want to strip it down if it's something else, also struggling to get info on replacing the bearing only, my local vw dealer are not much help. Many thanks
