Hope this helps:

17911/P1503 - Load signal from Alternator Term. DF: Range/Performance / Implausible Signal

Possible Causes

  • Alternator faulty
  • Voltage Regulator faulty
  • Wiring and/or connections faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check / Replace Alternator
  • Check / Replace Voltage Regulator
  • Check wiring and connections
  • Check the fuse box that is in the battery tray, it might be burnt, the fuse or the complete plastic box (pretty common failure on Sharan because it carries so much electrical load). If so, change the complete fuse box, it is not too expensive fix if this is the cause.

16712/P0328/000808 - Knock Sensor 1 (G61): Signal too High

Possible Symptoms

  • Irregular RPM
  • Drivebility Issues
  • Loss of Power
  • Engine Damage

Possible Causes

  • Knock Sensor 1 (G61) Short to Plus
  • Knock Sensor 1 (G61) Open Circuit
  • Knock Sensor 1 (G61) loose
  • Knock Sensor 1 (G61) faulty
  • Engine Control Module faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Tighten Knock Sensor 1 (G61)
  • Check Wiring and Connections
  • Check Knock Sensor 1 (G61) and Knock Control

Special Notes

  • This feature search for unusual (spontaneous) combustion. The sensor detects unusual vibrations and based on that it generates a voltage. Is this voltage outside a certain limit a dtc will be set.

17950/P1542/005442 - Angle Sensor 1 for Throttle Actuator (G187): Implausible Signal

Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) active

Possible Causes

  • Angle Sensors 1/2 for Throttle Actuator (G187/G188) faulty
  • Power Supply for Angle Sensors 1/2 for Throttle Actuator (G187/G188) faulty
  • Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Angle Sensors 1/2 for Throttle Actuator (G187/G188) faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Angle Sensors 1/2 for Throttle Actuator (G187/G188)
    • See Measuring Value Blocks (MVB), usually MVB 062

[*] Power Supply for Angle Sensors 1/2 for Throttle Actuator (G187/G188) faulty

    [*] Wiring/Connector(s) from/to Angle Sensors 1/2 for Throttle Actuator (G187/G188) faulty

16955/P0571/001393 - Brake Light Switch (F): Implausible Signal

Possible Symptoms

  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) active
  • Brake Light(s) not working

Possible Causes

  • Wiring and/or Connectors faulty
  • Fuse(s) faulty
  • Wrong Brake Light Bulp installed (21W instead of 5/21W)
  • Brake Light Bulp(s) faulty
  • Brake Light Switch (F) faulty

Possible Solutions

  • Check Wiring or Connectors
  • Check/Replace Fuse(s)
  • Check/Replace Brake Light Bulp(s)
  • Check/Replace Brake Switch (F)

<a name="Special_Notes">

Special Notes

  • Brake Light Switches (F) have the reputation of breaking quite often.
