  1. Ive tried to get a map to the Bridge Inn but the only one on yell.com in Nottingham isnt the one i mean. I have two ideas:

I have got a map to a place called Hooters though which is also a good place but overpriced as you pay for the novelty of seing girls dressed in bikinis! However if we meet at Hooters cos its easy to get to (as its on the same road as both football grounds and the railway station) we can either stay there or follow me to the Bridge Inn which is only a few miles away and is excellent.

Could post map on this topic but not sure how.

  2. Word of warning mate. When i initially made my coilover enquiries the Eibach ones were not height adjustable at the rear. I think the kits you looked at my be the new range but still worth checking.

I have had my FK/ Koni kit for 7000 miles now and they are still as amazing as ever. Also they still look shiney and polished as you get a sealer spray with the kit so it doesnt get all corroded and oxidised.

Cant fault H&R though as they are awesome as well. Would reccommnd adjustable damping though as i found i had to adjust the damping abit at first as the front was abit soft and bouncy on fast roads.

  3. May i propose a location.

There is a pub on the outskirts of Nottingham called the Bridge.

It is situated on the main route into Nottingham from Lincoln (A46) on a huge roundabout so it cant be missed, is in a pleasant location so cars wont be subject to skumbags and the carpark is huge so we can all look around each others cars while we are there.

Have been before as well and the food was both excellent value and very nice.

  4. MY Gti is lowered about 60mm at the rear on 17's and it has never rubbed even with a car full.

The problem with the `non-Gti` cars is the rear arch is flat not round and blistered out like the Gti.

However isnt the track width narrower on `non-Gti` cars so the wheels should sit further inwards...or is this countered by the 7mm track difference (42mm on Gti and 35mm on `non-gti`)??? ??? ???

    Im confused now.

  5. Loopy,

I once wrote a really long post on this so ill recap briefly for ou.

I got info on nearly all the coilovers available cos i didnt know what to go for. As you mentioned them ill give you my opinions on Supersport and Spax though you dont have to take any notice of my jibbering.

Supersport...look abit cheapo i though and they dont adjust for ride height at the back (just a set of fixed drop springs about 40mm). Dont think the shock are adjustable either.

Spax...they dont adjust for ride height at the back either (just a set of fixed drop springs about 40mm).

You said you have nearly £600. My FK's only cost £649 from Dubsport and are ride height adjustable and damping adjustable all round. Also you get some sealer spray weith them so even now after a quick clen they look brand new...no oxidation on them at all yet!

  6. A few of us on here (including myself) have had dodgy windows. Mine didnt work the day i bought the car brand new!

I think mine was a dodgy switch on the drivers door as my "`one-touch`" didnt work. Got it fixed straight away after asking manager why his staff lied and said they had just done the PDI when clearly they hadnt.

Useless dealer...ALL OF US HAVE ONE OF THOSE, i think. Havnt got a good word to say about my dealer.

  7. Loopy,

Ive posted loads about coilovers praising them, in fact i really cant fault them (apart from it hurts when you have to pay for them)!

Its a personal choice really but id strongly reccomend FK Konigspots like i have. They come with the same shocks as Fins Koni kit (surprised...nah) but the FK's have the addd bonus of being height adjustable all round.

  8. Im thinking the same as Loopy here. Why not try to combine a track day with one of PVW's group thrashes. We may get a discount then and get featured as well.

Would be well up for a trackday but im abit concerned about how close it all gets out there. We would have to be pretty sensible as they are our everyday cars arnt they.

Plenty of free time after my last exam this fridy though so yeah.

  9. It was Doncaster custon car show this weekend just gone.

Absolutally loads and loads of modified cars...some very nice ideas.

Also saw 3 other Lupo Gti's. 4 together...thats nearly as many as the rolling road day! Mine, 2 silver and a red (first red one ive seen). All 3 were standard though with just mine being buggered about with.

What a great event this is growing to be, gets bigger every year.

  10. I know i sound crackers and it is such a strange fault but thats part of it.

I cant figure it out, the dealer hasnt a clue (though do VW dealers even know what planet they are on?).

Im going to take a closer look at the headlight washer bottle this weekend while i have wheels off to put the 17's on.

I hope your not right Putney, or there may be Lupeadophile in my area praying on young Lupo's. (sorry that was abit tasteless wasnt it).

  11. It must be losing coolant but its such a small amount that its hardly noticable. I took about 3/4 of a pint out the header tank to get it from where it was (above full) to the min level so even a minor leak will result in no noticable drop in the level for ages and because its so gradual it isnt easy to spot.

Thought it could be water trapped but its been dry for 3 weeks and ive done 1200miles and its still doing it so its isnt that.

Took passenger side repeater out last night and there seems to be a plastic bottle in the inner wing (like the washer bottle) but hole from repeater is too small to see much. Wonder if the screen wash reservoir spills into another bottle in the wing and that is whats leaking. Still leak looks like coolant to me.
