Selector in gearbox?
-
My sport sump took a battering, when I nealy spun it. It scrapped over a kerb, but did not crack. Depends on the impact, and if it grazes the bottom or hits side on.
-
i dunno but i think its behind the ash tray?!
true

Had to come back to read this thread (knew it would be on here). Daft thing to do, but we have all done it at some time. He has learned the hard way. Get the lube out.

Keep it going, cant wait to see this finished.
-
You can do it. I have ham fists and I have changed mine. Its just painful, and annoying.
-
I had a gt before my sport. Last of the gt's with the mk 2 interior (which is a must). Twin port solex carb, had the engine rebuilt which cost a bit (head gasget failed on the alloy block). Then sold it because the electrics and heater matrix failed.
Was a great little car that pulled low down and revved high, arosa felt slower when i got it. But is alot safer.
Last time I checked it was still on the road.

Drill the rivets out, they are soft alloy. You can always screw it back on using self tapping screws or new rivets.
-
I seriously tempted with the ss, arosa has done a few miles now and getting bored with it. Drive past the fiat garage every morning, they have a 500 out the front and it looks great.
-
Good choice
Cant wait to see them on the car, its going to look great (bloody hell I sound like that annoying frosties kid).
-
Lupo is safer aswell.
-
It was a mk 1 non uk.
-
mate , its only the sports that suffer from the pedal box problem ... if your arosa is suffering its a first ...
Sorry but thats not true. My mates arosa 1.0 mk1 had a new pedal box, and a friend that drives a 1.0 lupo.
It only those with hydralic clutches that don't have problems.

Front Wheel
Rear Wheel
Car
What not to do with one
Probably one of the last time I will post these, as Im selling all the bits (& people bored of them).

1. As they have said check water levels. The temp for the engine is on a little dial, not an lcd readout.
2. It sounds like the sensor is broken. Have not got a clue as arosa dont have them.
3. Check the oil breather hose is not broken come loose. Also make sure there is no fuel pissing on your engine.
4. Depends how long you want it to last. The more stick you give it the more likely you are going to have a problem.
Taking it to the red line occasionally won't do any harm. The 16v's pull all the way.
5. Crash it, if you can help it.

Got it started - corroded iginition lead.

The things I have found on the forum are the ignition switch, immobiliser and coil pack.
Which one is it most likely to be and where are the first 2 ?

Had a week off and gone to start car. Came on for a second and cut out. Now wont start at all.
Spark plugs fine.
Charge in battery.
Fuel in tank.
Starter motor turning.
Just wont fire up?
Any ideas, got to go back to work tomorrow.
Its a petrol sport

I must admit I do actually like them. Although the popularity thing has runined them for me.
There is only one I would consider buying and thet is the supercharged cooper s.
Lohen do some quality bits and pieces for it.
-
I am trying to go cold turkey at the moment, just put the arosa back to standard and cant force myself to sell the bits yet.
Driving around in a slammed yellow arosa at 27 can feel like a bit of a tit at times, especially when I have to go to site meetings.
Cant wait till I can afford a new car, no doubt it will recieve a few sneaky tweaks (just dont tell the her indoors).
Should have done what the chap that sits next to me at work did, spend the house deposit on a vx.

They are on this website
Some good advice on this page.
Roads are so poor where I live that you end up skipping around corners, because the setup is too stiff. If you want the ride height adjustment coilovers are the way to go.
G60 brakes cant fit under most 14s. Gti wheels are fine.

I'd advise tinting your windows first, imagine if a 4 x 4 went past your nice low down car and the kids in the back looked in ?
Chicken
Rich kids in 4x4's are too busy watching dvds. Its the coffin dodgers in coaches you have to watch out for, the shock might kill them.

It is possible to do it without the rewind tool, but its alot harder. You have to appy alot of pressure and twist the caliper at the same time. Its a right ****** if one wont go back. Its quite easy other than that.
The sport does not have allen keys, its bolts to remove the caliper like the front.
