  1. To be fair, Regardless of Stand alone management or standard engine management, If its having a re-map then it needs to go on a rolling road. Without a rolling road, remapping becomes a minefield of misinformation. The rolling road is required to see exactly what the car is doing under different load conditions, see exactly what the air fuel ratio is and get the calibration spot on.

As for the Lupo GTI standard ECU, You can't just flash it as it will not accept a re-code. These cars require a physical chip change during the remap process.

We've found out of the three Lupo GTI's and 5 Polo GTI (1.6 16v) we've done, they require about 4 hours on the rollers to get the calibration spot on.

P.S. Anyone with the Equipment can do it, But only the people with the Equipment, The background knowlege and the experience in map calibration can do it right.

I'll be speaking to you guys when I think about getting mine re-mapped. :)

  2. I never understand why people say Lupo's are slow compared to these cars, unless mine has had a remap I dont know about, there more than capable of keeping up with type r's, beating clio 182's, VTS's and 106 Gtis. Maybe its just me.

Not too sure about this mate.. did you stick with a type r on the move or from a stop/start ? and the clio 182's are pretty nifty don't know what you've been doing to keep up with 1 of them.

unless you've had a go against someone that cant drive !

  3. Ha yes you inspired me. :P

Pretty funny stories, and a surprising amount of you have been caught speeding. I am overly suspicious of decent cars with two blokes in at night now.

My friend was in his golf and an under cover police car raced up his ass, thinking he wanted a race my mate gunned it and was gutted with 3 points. Cheeky basts they are.

A speeding fine for 33 though, mate that sucks :/

Cheers mate but to be honest it was my fault I got pulled and i admitted it when they pulled me over.

  4. i've not seen any other GTI's around welling apart from the white one on work equips, I saw a silver one at lakeside with ronal turbos not sure if he is on here though.

heres mine which was previously owned by GTI LU_PO.

  5. After driving past a beautiful loop earlier on the side of the road with the police, it made me wonder how often you Lupo owners get pulled.

I drive a tin can and haven't been pulled in two year, where as a lot of my mates have, but then again they drive hot(ter) hatches than mine.

How have you found it? And what model Loop do you own? It seems to be the bigger and more shiny the wheels, the more the police like to stop you!

has this thread been started in relation to u seeing me pulled over in my lupo lol
