Yup, ridiculously expensive but just wanted to know if they were being outlandishly expensive compared to others or is it worth driving 60ish miles noth or south to the next dealer.

Is there fuel in it?
Not sure about the plugs, its a possibility but could be the pump or injectors clogged?

After coming back from being away in the US for 2 months I check my car the night I come home (Thursday) and all is well, not a mark and nice and dry and free of snow in the underground garage. The Saturday morning after a day of convalescence I go out to the car to find some bar-steward has smacked into the wing, not really dented it as such but taken a nice chunk of paint off the passenger wing and bumper. Typically, no note was left under the wipers but I have put up a note asking for information (none expected) of course.
I took the car to the VW repair shop Friday afternoon, how much to only respray bumper and wing?
£410 + vat style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
I know VW charge more than a normal repair shop but I want the job done right however even I was amazed by this price. Is this just the local dealer cashing in? Has anybody else had a minor respray (no panel beating required) from a main dealer repair centre if so how much did it cost you?
I am going to be looking into other repair shops so not really needing advice on that but just want to see if it is just the local body shop ripping me off or if all are like that?

Nah nah nah there were 2 decent Ford ads:
One with Jackie Stewart as he drove Escort hot-hatches over the years for the XR3 I think...
As for those Vauxhall kids, I really hope they get bullied at school. I would have if I was in their class.

Bah!
Was just about to post the Maseratti but you beat me to it.

Yeah, that jingle at the end is pretty terrible. I'm no Ford advert expert, but is it just me that can't remember one single half decent advert for their cars?
I remember a Fiesta one from over ten years ago that did have a fit lady in though.
Quite liked the Fiesta ones they did when it was a moon buggy (I think it was Fiesta Black) and the ice hockey one but yeah, most have been pretty shocking IIRC.

every time i hear it i think it is for a computer company, dunno why
but yes they are totally **** adverts
Think it reminds you of the intel 'chime' which is OK but the fact that on every Ford advert they 'tag' a few accoustic chords onto the end of it makes no sense, especially when the advert has been done in a completely different style. S-Max for instance with the Chemical brothers music playing and then it goes onto that orange ST backdrop with the stupid chords style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

Those Fiesta adverts; Stupid Dogbot, Clever Fiesta. Seriously WTF?
And another thing, why do all Ford adverts now end with that bit of accoustic guitar at the end? It is so tacked on.

Not quite a moth but a locust that was on our topside Jumpers last month, about 3 inches in length.

I'm worried you had quick access to that picture...

Hmmm... I'd still take a GTi I think.
Was it sitting outside the dealers overnight? That would be a prime suspect for not being there when they came to open up in the morning.

This applies to the whole thread:

The only thing that worries me is the price and the market they are aiming for. You might convince some MINI drivers to switch, but if they don't broadly improve the dealer experience it'll be a shock for some buyers, ones that won't go back if the experience isn't upto the very strong service they receive in the BMW network.
I've been giving this some thought; I don't think they will be able to sell it at Mini money but obvioulsy they want to distance themselves from it being a bargain product like the Panda.
If they are able to invest some money and ensure that the interior materials used are of a decent enough quality (Vauxhall/ Ford level) and ensure that there were some neat design touches that make people go 'ooooh' when they see it then they can get away with charging a premium for this car.
The Panda sells at £6500-£9500 I think for base to 100hp Sport? If, and only if they ensure quality is there and give it a good marketing spin then £8500-£13000 would be a decent amount, they need to undercut the Mini to make it appealing to most but get the quality right and so long as they keep the Panda's dynamics then there is no need to go spending unecessary cash in the chassis department as they car is not pretending to be a Cooper S.
I would want the Abarth version to have some go to it though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

You were influenced by Crusoe then? Careful now...
Worked over there the past few months, back in Aberdeen now though but heading back over for some time before the end of this moth I think.
Coming on here from the US just didn't seem right somehow.
-
... Fiat's quality seems to be on the up, a lot of people on here rate the Panda, the car looks to have a quirky character. ...
*New* Panda has just come overall 8th in the Top Gear satisfaction survey 2007!
Owners aparently praising build quality and reliability, a good start for the 500 I'd say.

You are not wrong DJ, now I've decied to get him one this is like mission impossible...unless I am willing to pay £100+ over the odds style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
There was a site my mate used, wii-finder or something like that. It listed all the shops that had them in stock or due dates, maybe give them a go?
On a side note, when did you get your SMART?
