  1. Stick the engine under the rear seats and then you have all that space under the bonnet for luggage, I can't see how that wouldn't work.

BMW introduced a concept in the late 90's when they still owned Rover for the new Mini called the 'Spiritual' which used this principle. Personally I always thought that they should have run with this concept instead of the Bini as it was more inventive.

  2. Lock me up for saying this, but I prefer the Corsa VXR on looks.

Its the same car underneath remember but IMO the new Corsa is Fugly, it is an improvement over the old one but sitting beside one in traffic the other day and it was bumps and mismatched shapes all over the place and had tiddly little wheels for the size of the car.

i mean the hot version of the gti, renault announced it recently. the RC type kind of thing.

Renault make a 207 now as well? Peugeot will be all over them for the naming rights!

  3. Obvously they haven't learned their lesson : BBC News article June 2003

Kite flyers in Pakistan's Punjab Province will face murder charges and a possible death penalty if their sharpened strings cause more deaths.

Several people have had their throats cut this year by strings that are either metallic or coated with abrasive materials.

Police throughout the province have now been instructed to treat such deaths as murder cases.

Kite flyers use metallic strings or coat them with glass shards to take part in "dog fights" where the objective is to cut their opponent's string.

Fiats answer to the Peugeot 207 GT 1.6T and the VW Polo GTI is equipped with the 1.4 Turbo petrol engine that premiered on the Bravo. It delivers 150Hp at 5500 rpm, (boosted to 155Hp if you use 98 RON petrol) and a maximum torque figure of 230Nm at 3.000 rpm. Fiat also announced that latter in the year they’ll present a more powerful version of the Grande Punto Abarth. The latter, thanks to a booster kit will deliver 180Hp.

  6. It is a dangerous past-time

At least 11 people died and more than 100 people were injured at an annual spring festival in eastern Pakistan celebrated with the flying of thousands of colourful kites, officials said today.

The deaths and injuries were caused by stray bullets, sharpened kite-strings, electrocution and people falling off rooftops yesterday at the conclusion of the two-day Basant festival, said Ruqia Bano, spokeswoman for emergency service in the city of Lahore.

The festival is regularly marred by casualties caused by sharp kite strings or celebratory gunshots fired into the air.

Kite flyers often use strings made of wire or coated with ground glass to try to cross and cut a rival’s string or damage the other kite, often after betting on the outcome.

  7. I think so too which is why I am shopping around, just wanted to see if it was just the local dealer being greedy or if anyone had any experience of a decent priced VW body shop.

Trying another one today and one at the weekend so hopefully getting it fixed before I head off again.

VW is said to develop a new small car for emerging markets which might be produced in Russia, India or China. The car shall cost between 5000 and 6000 Euro. An export to Europe is not planned.
  11. I can see it being used as aPolice car actually, many traffic police no doubt lament the passing of the 24v Sennator and this would be the ultimate replacement.

The front of the beast is almost identical to a Ponticac though so even more zany US powered versions might be in the offering
