the lupo cvs and shafts fit. you need to get 100mm cups for the gearbox (find a mk3 golf tdi box. this already has 100mm cups) and 100mm inner cv joints. only passenger side shaft need to be shortened by around 40mm, but I suppose this depends on where the engine is located. mine was 40mm shorter.
as for ecu, i'd stick with the ecu from the 1.8t. try and get an AGU engine. a lot easier and stronger.
i'm using a megasquirt, but its proving to be quite a challenge to get the fuelling ok.

few questions Norpan, what power steering pipes did you use, and how did you wire the speedo?
-
seen welded box section across the two chassis legs and a mk2 golf mount used
-
does anyone who's done a 1.8T conversion into a lupo know how to wire in the speedo? using a Mk3 TDi box.
also, is it possible to get the rev counter working? using megasquirt ECU.

my 1.4 8v was, 1 1/4" diameter pipe, so I used a 1 1/2" clamp to compensate for the overlap and rust.

hello folks, me again.
i'm about to plumb in my power steering but will need to source the correct pipes.
my question is, looking from the front of the car (arosa) the steering rack has two banjo fittings, 1 high one and 1 lower down. what one of these goes to the pump? with this information I should be able to figure out what I need.
the top banjo is 14mm and the lower 16mm. the pump has a 16mm fitting but i'm not convinced that the 2 16mm banjos should be connected. if anyone has a Haynes manual or a diagram, even better.
1.8T AGU engine and power steering pump
standard arosa power steering.
cheers in advance

So I'm nearing the end of my conversion. Custom exhaust time. Problem I'm having is trying to get the brakes to work!!
I've opted for the focus/cupra master cylinder, bench bled the MS and no air in the lines but the brake pedal is going to the floor!!
Anyone any ideas? I have lupo sport calipers which are not seized. Pedal gets to the floor before the brakes start to work. No stopping power. I have the 3mm spacer between the servo and MS. Wondering whether to try removing this for more reach with the push rod to see what happens.

I'm wanting to put a 1.6 aee block and head into my 1.4 arosa. Existing engine code is aex. Do you know if this is a straight swap over?
-
Come on folks, someone must know?
-
Long story short;
My arosa 1.4 AEX engine is goosed, planning to replace it but was wondering how much hassle it would be to put the 1.6 AEE engine in.
Does everything from the aex engine fit the aee,
Would I need all the aee manifolds and fuel parts,
Does the aex ecu fit the aee.
Any help folks before I spend my hard earned cash on something I can't use.

i am in the process of enquiring about doing a 20v conversion. get a megasquirt ecu, 1.8 16v gearbox o20. the mk2 16v driveshafts can be machined to fit. theres always options.

hi folks, i want the euro look on my arsoa. i have coilovers on it and want to know what size the wheels are people use to get the look. 14x8 possibly and is an ET20 a good start? not too clued up on the offsets an arosa will take. dont want them to sit too far out from the arches.
-
look folks, my engine has been burning oil for months now. i'm at the stage where i'm cleaning my plugs every 100 miles and getting fed up with it. i have a 1.4 arosa. i'm skint so want to do this on a budget of about £1000. what options do i realistically have. i'm more than capable of doing mechanical work myself and have access to a fully fitted out garage with all the gear. this is the only car i run and cant do without it for more than 4 days max.
gimme your ideas please. before i scrap it.

none of mines were working, but the bulbs were ok. rubbed the terminals down as they were all corroded. works fine now.

remote wire at the back of the stereo is usually blue. this turns the amp or electric aerial on with your stereo.

that news item is over a year old and the replacemt for the lupo if there will be 1 will be based on the up concept
sorry for being late!! i dont sit glued to new car sites hitting refresh every 10 seconds waiting on info about new cars. i only came across it while doing a google image search and i'm only commenting on the nick of it. looks like a pound of mince.

Hi,
I now have an Arosa with engine APQ (according to the book that came with it)
Does anyone else have this engine? I believe it is quite a random engine. 1.4 8v manual. I couldnt find it in the comprehensive list from the forum (in the how to fit section I think)
TBH, although Im sure its not as fast as a 16v, the cars got a bit of pick up, im certainly not disappointed with the performance.
i have this engine. smoke bellows out the back of it when i thrash it. nice puller at lower revs. happy with the economy, just not the performance. i'm used to mk1 & 2 golf GTi's though. what year is your motor?

has anyone seen the state of the new lupo?

why do they insist on making small cars bigger??

Might want to rename your thread title. Sounds a bit wrong lol.
hehe! that was the point, to get folk to read it.
