  1. Just to keep you kind fellows in the loop, the car drives straight and true again....was the tyres! Just had 2 new tyres fitted and all is good again
  2. Oh,I didn't know, still learning me.....
  3. Right, think I've got to the bottom of it! Finally after everything else, I changed the wheels over.....the car now pulls to the right! Think it was Pete who advised it, and wish I tried it sooner! But will get new tyres tomorrow, and fingers crossed, it finally gets solved!will keep you updated. as for joms, granted they're budget Coilies, but it seems to be people who slam their cars who complain of a harsh ride, I tried mine a lot higher and they were alright, and the lower I whent the harsher the ride, which again granted, it's the fundamental reason people buy them, but on a budget they aren't too bad, and safer than cut springs! I got them because of the state of the original suspension when I first got the car, which was quite interesting on the motorway! One day I may be able to afford better ☺ Can't thank you all enough for your help, you've all been welcoming.?
  4. Joms are cool, lots of people use them, and for the price they're good, just make sure you measure everything up corectly when fitting....or double check they've been done correctly if someone else has fitted them!! My lupo is just over 70mm lower and rides good, can't go lower as said because of the amount of speed bumps around here.
  5. Measured the arch gaps and had a fiddle....then adjusted the the heights to be as equal as possible, cars much better now would love to lower as low as can go but there's some serious amounts of speed bumps around here, already scraping sometimes,i hate speed bumps! As always you guys have been most helpful ☺
  6. Been to the garage, brakes are fine and not binding, tyre wear is all alright, they reckon it's suspension related, as I have joms in the car they recomend a suspension specialist to have them correctly setup!simples
  7. Gotta say, although better, its not cured!hold the wheel straight and it goes straight, but let go of the wheel and it starts doing the pulling to the left thing again, not as bad but its still there, tried driving on the opposite side of the road and still there. So...both wishbones/control arms, both drop links, both ball joints and 3 sets of tracking and its still there, so thinking now, strut mounts or engine mounts wearing! Possible brake bind but wheels was spinning freely on the ramps, taking it to the garage again tomorrow and leaving it there, they'll give me a call if they can find anything. Doing a search online and it seems to be a very common problem on polo's and lupo's, even reviews on brand new cars! Allot of feedback from vw is that it's a design built into the cars so if the driver falls asleep the car won't vear into oncoming traffic! I think that's a load of bull! As the car was not too long ago alright!also worth mentioning that discs and pads all round have been changed. Will wait and see......thanks for you advice so far gents
  8. The muppets who tracked it last time tracked it with the steering wheel of centre! Barstewards
  9. Lol,will be getting a mechanic to look at it today, if he can't find the problem then I'm stumped!
  10. It's pulling in an obvious way, not long got back from a drive where I was letting the car go round corners on its own, again not sharp but long bends in the road! It's only funny the first couple of times :/ I've spent nearly £2k on this car,not including the price of the actual car!,it's practically new lol, thinking of selling it now, anyone interested?.....
  11. Tyres are all the right way, just in a straight line it goes left if you release the wheel, also around long left hand bends, it can go around the bend on its own, bloody annoying! Tyres are all the right way, just in a straight line it goes left if you release the wheel, also around long left hand bends, it can go around the bend on its own, bloody annoying!
  12. Hi all, hoping you all can help. My lupo pulls to the left! replaced both suspension arms and drop links and ball joints, also had the tracking done and yet it still pulls to the left, tyre pressures are all correct any ideas? It's not major but highly irritating after the amount of money I've spent on it. Thanks in advance guys/gals
  13. No matter, had a look and going to get a catch can, or just plug a longer tube down through the engine bay for any vapours to escape, seems the vapours are just adding to the air mixture, can't be good for performance, got in the donkey yesterday and was surprised how it pulled! All the work so far has paid off thanks again for the help everyone:) will put a little blog up soon officially introducing myself and the interesting introduction to the lupo world.
  14. Nice 1 again dude.regarding that oil breather, should I block it off? To stop oil gas residue going to the air intake...
  15. Also, the engine breather pipe that goes into the air intake box, thinking I should block this of as the egr has been deleted, so seems pointless to have it and just undo the effects of egr delete!is my way of thinking correct? If so just block it or put a mini k&n on the pipe coming from the engine, and block the pipe going into the air intake? Cheers
  16. You're a star mate, will look into giving this a go also interesting about the fuel additives such as redex! The fuel lines that go from the filter to the fuel intake, just connect them together so nothing can come out of the filter, then can run the purge lines to the fuel intake pipes that go into the engine, Than start and run engine till all purge has been used, but guessing stop the engine just before the purge is completely used as to avoid air bing sucked in, then reconnect all lines as before disassembly.think I've got it
  17. Skezza you're a gent for for your help mate, I've done a full service just 2k miles ago, which included gearbox oil change, fuel/air/oil filter, and engine oil, also the coolant was replaced when the cam belt and water pump was done. So as suggested before, I'll have to try a diesel purge, although I do use red ex, it seems not all that good from what you guys say, don't have the confidence to try a purge myself so will have to find someone who offers the service, Hoping the mpg's will rise after! thanks again for the advice
  18. I did check it that way when I first got the donkey but can't remember what results I got, but think I only got 300 miles to an overflowing tank!, so will do another brim to brim calculation soon skezza that's some impressive mpgs! I hope I can achieve those kind of results, if I am getting poor mpgs I'll have to investigate potential problems further. On another note, was thinking of getting a decat this weekend, but deciding against it now as apparently new mot rules state that the mot tester must look for a cat, and if it cannot be seen then it's an mot fail! Could always keep the cat and have it put on for mot, too much of a faffle I think.
  19. Worked out using online calculator, is approx 46 mpg. Heard of people ragging their cars and still getting more than this.....I drive sensibly and occasionally heavy foot it! Would the diesel purge help these figures?
  20. Also, I've noticed since I've bought the car, it gets around 85 miles to £10, according to what I've read, it should be achieving more than this? The car (which you can now all now know I call the donkey) has had two services in the last 5k miles, including one full service from gearbox oil to fuel filter, so was hoping for a little more mpg's, or is this actually the real life mpg's? Also thanks again to everyone for all the help and advice, has helped a lot, you're all a kind bunch
  21. I have seen them and are quite big compared to some other filters I suppose, just after seeing the PIC of the the other SDI with it done was curious as to how they did it?https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=lupo+sdi+tuning&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CAcQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforums.clublupo.co.uk%2Findex.php%3F%2Ftopic%2F25420-17-sdi-power%2F&ei=iGbjVPX9DsGBUdSFgtAJ&bvm=bv.85970519,d.d24&psig=AFQjCNHq1h06eDpkT47Ye2THJQvia6fCyQ&ust=1424275460622686 this is the PIC in question.... Think it's the tenth post down.....
  22. Regarding the air filter, I know it's suggested to leave the stock one in place, but if I fancied making or buying another more easily breathing intake, what would I do with the filter sensors? Think there's two of them along the intake tube, just unclip them? Or re-plumb them somewhere? Read another guys post, who's got blue piping in his engine bay and just a cone filter in place of the intake tubes, but doesn't state what's been done with the sensors! Any suggestions? Muchos gazios....
  23. That would be cheap if you could get it done for that price! Still enjoying the little bit of extra go think this Saturday I'll stick the trumpets back in, see if there's any difference.
  24. Although it's claimed 12 bhp, I can't state this to be true as I haven't been able to dyno it,but I would say it's not quite the stated 12 bhp! but it does pull better than before, just feels more punchy and happier when pulling out at junctions.
  25. Well the car's now got a remap! Gotta say it is better now, combined with the other little modds. it's by no means a speed racer, but it is more drivable, pulls better through the gears, feel it more around the city, pulls easier and feels less restrained. not so much improvement at high speed though, just as I say feels less restrained. Going to drive it as is for now, then maybe next week put the trumpets back in to see if they do anything good. So there you have it, if you plan on keeping your SDI and want more from it, egr delete, inlet clean and remap, will make the car feel more responsive and pull a little better, but still no speed demon!
