  1. Norpan where is the speedo pick up sensor is it in the gearbox? If it is does that mean that when I do my conversion and use a golf box should I then be able to run golf sized wheels, I'm planning on running 16's but I don't want a stupid 35 profile tyre as the pot holes around hear would wreck both wheel and tyre and I want to keep my speedo as accurate as possible.

    yes and yes

  2. Hi guys,

Does anyone know if anyone's done anything other than 1.8t swaps and the usual old stuff?

I was wondering how hard it would be to fit the new polo gti engine (1.4tfsi running 180ps) and it's gearbox?

That would be pretty cool IMO!

What do u guys think? Other than it being a hugely costly project considering its a brand new engine bla bla bla.

Don't waste your time mate the 1.4 tsi is almost as bad as a citron their crap it's like their built out of cheese verry fickle engines that only a few people other than vw can work on so much so the motor factors don't even supply parts for them so you have to take them to vw for parts and work done. The 2.0's are a bit better but still prone to issues that involve full rebuilds

  3. Hi! I've done some research however it is hard to get straight answers! I have used the search bar!

I have come up with a list for my 1.8t project on my polo 6n2 gti, I just want a push in the right direction!

Could I please have some advice on whether I need to add to the list or something I've said is wrong! I know it's a lot of hard work and money, and the list doesn't include upgrading braking or supension, litterally just for the engine swap!

    Here goes:::::::::::::

Agu engine, ko3s turbo, gearbox, ancillaries, Ecu, loom, (as agu is cable clutch so won't have to change the pedal box? And stronger internals?)

Vr6 clutch and g40 flywheel(optional but handle power better?)

Ecu decoded so I can use the polo gti clocks and key?

    Custom loom

    Custom engine / gearbox mounts

Find the correct driveshafts from another vw/Audi/seat or send off for custom ones?

    Custom down pipe

    Vr6 radiator

    Front mount intercooler and piping?

LSD to help put power down

you don't need to change to peddle box with a agu engine and yes it has the strongest internals their the same as the bam engine code and easily capable of 300bhp

the G40 flywheel is stronger than the standard duel mass that are prone to failing their a bit of a chocolate flywheel

yes you need to crack/flash the ecu to keep your clocks and ignition key

yes to the custom loom and mounts but on the gti im sure you can use the standard gearbox mount with the 5 speed j2o box

on the lupo you can use the lupo sdi shafts on the polo im not sure but with the derv polo using a 1.9 then the shafts should be the same size as having a 20vt I also think you can use these mounts to

    yes to custom downpipe

you don't need the vr6 rad but itll help in cooling you can also use the polo tdi rad

forge do intercoolers and pipeing and just use the lsd out the golf the engine came out

im doing 1 in a lupo and this is what ive been told to use from someone whos done between 10-15 conversions

    hope this helps

  4. I've never tried it on a mac but there is free software called VirtualBox that you can use to run Windows on your Mac. You could theoretically buy the eBay VAGCOM cable and download the shareware version from the Ross website

you can but you need to match the cable to the version of vagcom otherwise ross tech blocks your cable from working it is also very temperamental with its connection wich isn't good if your trying to map

  6. It is possable as you can put anything in any car with enough work. No I don't think it would be worth doing as the engine your wanting to use runs on golf engine mounts meaning you've got to change them and if your messing about welding in new mounts you might as well put in a 20v turbo, basicly the amount of work you'll be doing out weighs the the amount it's going to up grade or increase power added more so by you wanting to supercharge ( <- not cheap) where you can pick up a full 20vt car for about £300-£600

  7. ive got another couple of questions for you

    1. how much roughly did the engines weight lower the car as ill be running big wheels and very little drop because of the 12 speed bumps I need to cross to get off my estate so a couple of inch sump clearance might be a bit of a pain in the ass

    2. did you need to fit the bonnet risers or was that a style choice?

    3. was the intercooler a custom job or is their a off the shelve option?

    4. can you still fit the inner archers in?

    thanks for any help

  8. hi there guys , bought my self a little 1.0e lupo about 12 months ago to run round with plans to convert to a 20v. this time has now come after sorting another car to drive as a daily. got daisy from a bury 1 owner from new well looked after etc and at bargin and the name daisy well that was what they called it and had stickers on the boot lol.

i do have afew pics when i got it , first thing was to lose the wheels and get it lowered , porsche teledails and coilovers came .

now to work out how to upload pics

    any ideas guys

started by removing the front end ,then to the engine and gear box.

once this was done wanted to give a good cean and remove subframe etc

i purchased some g60 front brakes been full refurbed and painted pink

polo gti hubs stripped down and powder coat new bearings fitted

    red stuff pads

    grooved disc

    subframe off and powder coated

    new track rod ends

new inner tie robs and boots

new bottom arms and ball joints

anti roll bar powdercoated and uprated new bushes

new bolts from vw for shocks hubs subframe etc

lupo gti rear beam purchased from thissy once i get it guna strip it down for paint and new all

o the joys of putting it all back togeather and start mounting soon.

back soon with update and hopefuly pictures if i find out how to get them up .

    speak soon

you've gone for g60 brakes, can you use others say like the golf gti's / seat leon fr's from doner car or don't they fit?

what rear callipers you using, lupo polo gti's?

is it the same situation with the hubs?

oh and ive been told to swop out the clutch for a single mass / g60 combo (duel mass are known for been softer than ice cream) is this what your doing or sticking with standard?

im very interested in your opinion as im collecting the parts for the conversion for a planned install during winter

  9. im just in the process of collecting parts until I get our lass another car so I can have mine back that's all ill be doing for the next 6 month or so  that and looking for something for her lol

  10. Hello peeps

im new to vw's but ill be jumping in (up to my neck) as im planning on a 20vt conversion on my lupo. Im from Yorkshire so im your typical Yorkshire lad that speaks his mind and sometimes I put my foot in it so if I say something that offends please don't take it personal or to heart.

have fun guys and peace out
