Good day! I've just acquired a green open air which I'm planning to restore to some of its former glory. Just wanted to say 'hi' and look forward to utilising the 'how to' threads to assist with my plans. We already have a Lupo as my son bought one for his first car last year, and now he's passed his test I never get to see it! I bought the open as its a little bit different, and might actually be worth something one day ?

Hmmm, Mrs J suffered long enough when I went through my MR2 mid life crisis phase, I'm not sure my marriage would stand the strain!! I have been looking though.....

Finally bought the boy a sweet little red 1.0 today!! Excellent little motor, and I'm sure you'll all be bombarded with questions from a very keen, inquisitive 16 (nearly 17!) year old....so please have some patience

Welcome Ned!! I'm still in pursuit of a Lupo for my son, but that looks a sweet little purchase you've made there. I'm also a fan of your 2...I've had several mk2's, my favourite being a Rev 2 tubby.

Thanks for that, i think the 2x that we're going to see are 'E's as they both have windy windows Re the footwell leak... Where does the water come in? Re the door dropping... Is this the 'door straps' which I've heard mentioned when I've skimmed through other posts?? Re pedal boxes... Anyone able to answer my original Q? It's going to be his learner car and will probably not venture on a motorway....not for a while anyway!! I think I'm more excited about it than he is tbh!!

Evening all! New to the forum, and although not a current owner, i'm currently in search of a 1.0 Lupo for my son who will be 17 next month. We're specifically targeting a 1.0 Lupo for a number of reasons, the main two being A) that they're insurable, and that they're just about the cutest, coolest little thing on 4 wheels! I used to be an MR2 owner and quite liked the meets and social side of ownership, and I imagine that it's a similar thing with the Lupo (certainly the whole VW thing anyway). I've read about the pedal box issue that seems to be an issue, but being a bit of a non techy, what are the symptoms of it failing, and how big (£'s) a job is it?? In addition, are there any other things specific to this model that I should be looking for?? Many thanks in advance
