Hi
I wonder if anyone knows whether you can split the EGR valve on a 1.0 Lupo 2002 I got a fault code for the EGR valve and took the valve off to clean it, took the two screws out that look like they held the valve body to the alloy cast base but it wouldnt come apart, tried to split it with a blade bit no joy so just cleaned it as best I could and refitted it but now its leaking water out of the split where I tried to part it so must have damaged the seal. I will have to take it back off again ( a right pain of a job ! ) and either split it and fix the gasket or replace it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Bob
I ended up replacing mine for £138 and 67p for the gasket. I tried what you have attempted with very little success sadly.

I don't know of a bracket, but I do know if it was me I would put it under the boot floor in the spare wheel well. Then it's hidden out of the way and you don't lose boot space (which is in short supply in a Lupo!)
I did think of this idea, but was trying to put it in the plastic mould that sits within the spare wheel. The changer is slightly to big
I am going to try and mod my bracket with the kind help of a friend with a circular saw.
Thank you for your help

I have a standard VW 6 Disc Multi Changer, but need to mount it to the back of one of the rear seats. I have a bracket, but it is taken from a Golf Gti. Does anyone know of a bracket that can be mounted on a seat that holds my CD Changer?

the plug in the top looks very much like a Sony databus cable, esp with it having a set of phono leads with it. I have one similar that connects a sony headunit to a minidisc autochanger for controlling the unit.
What head unit do you have fitted?
If it's a Gamma headunit, then you'll probably need something akin to this which will plug directly into the changer and head unit. You shouldn't need the phono leads with this cable.
Thank you, my head-unit is the Beta.

You don't say which make your CD changer is, but there may be an adaptor which allows you to connect the two different types of plug...
...but there may not be.
It is a VW standard Panasonic CX-CV1620LZ (3B0 035 111B )

I am trying to find out if there is an adaptor to connect my CD changer.
The above plug comes out into my boot with two phono plugs.
The above comes from the VW CD changer. Is there anyway of getting this to work?

Funnily enough I hit the tyres at Sawbench on my previous visit to Wiscombe. King of the just too late brakers.
I have a new wing from e-bay but haven't found the time to fit it yet.
Currently hanging out at Bangkok airport.
Will you be at the next hill-climb, wiscombe? 27th June?

Shame about the weather today
What did you do to your front end? I always seem to capture you at sawbench hairpin.

Shame about the weather today
No spare pennies for hybrid turbo yet but missed the tyres this time.
Latest outing at Wiscombe:
2nd in class on Saturday out of 5, 5th in the rain on Sunday out of 13.
Sorry to say that it looks like a breathed on Swift GTi is speedier than a diesel Lupo !!

Tell Apple if you find any bugs, as it is a Beta you need to tell Apple before they release the full version. I use Safari on my Mac and it has no security problems and runs very fast.

Thanks guys, hopefully this should solve the problem style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />

My Lupo is playing up, has anyone encounterd this problem.
The symptoms: On start up the engine revs fluctuate up and down and the engine sounds like it is going to stall, but does'nt. I went for a drive and it has gone away, but it may do it again.
Please, is there a remedy?
My lupo is a 2003 1.0L SE Unleaded (Used Shell unleaded petrol last time i filled up)

Does the battery light come on when its happening?
No, which is strange.

Sounds like you have an idle problem mate, does it do it when its cold or warm or both?
Both. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />

i am encountering a problem with my 1L Lupo SE.
This problem is a random thing, the engine tone goes up and down and all the lights do the same in time with the engine. I think is the alternator or the battery.
Has any body had this problem and know the cause?

when I was a lad and everyone drove mk2 escorts, I seem to remember that it was 'cool' to jack your leaf springs up so that the back end was 4 foot off the ground. Maybe this 'retro' thinking is just about to take off again 20 years later... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wtf:" border="0" alt="wtf.gif" />
The scary thing is i remember those days, but now they would be considered chav rides.... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wtf:" border="0" alt="wtf.gif" />
