  1. there is one I'm looking at thats an 02 plate, 38k, one lady owner, some damage to the passenger side sill but i'm told it can be repaired - i'm just trying to work out if its better to know it's had a good history like this one, or get one a few years younger and know its a bit newer... bleh - someone just find me a 55 plate lol

  2. Hi Guys,

Owned a 51 plate polo GTi for five years before it gave me loads of trouble, namely the 5spd gearbox repeatedly eating itself.

Got the vw bug again and looking at Lupo GTi's now instead.

Being kinda new is there any difference between say a 2002 model and a 2005 model aside from the age?

Ideally i'd like to hold out for as late as I can get - but do you think for example a 2002 with 40k on the clock is better than a 2005 with 60k on the clock?

Can't afford to make a mistake with the one i choose so being pretty cautious.

I know it all depends on how its been driven and looked after - any tips or pointers I should look out for when i'm viewing cars?

Also do you guys still find yours reliable or are there a whole host of common faults waiting for me?

Thanks very much for any responses!
