  1. as the post says im doing a supercharger conversion on my lupo and i got a few bits aka the charger the drive belt and outlet plate made up and my decomp plate wot else will i need i knw i will need a programmble ecu or should i get the standard vw 1 done as found a place that will do remap it for 700 quid also the lambda sensor wot sort do i need or wot would do the job and intercooler yes or no???? i think i asked this b 4 but i slept since then

  2. The fundamental problem with most modern electronic throttles is that they have a sneeze factor built in. I have no idea why manufacturers do this, other than perhaps thinking we are all a bunch of retards who can't control the movement of our right hoof properly.

There is a company called Sprint Booster (http://www.sprint-booster.co.uk/) who will sell you a device to plug between your pedal and ECU that will trick the ECU into reading the throttle potentiometer differently and hence will improve throttle response. It's £200 though for what is effectively an incredibly simple piece of kit. I have no idea quite what it does, but the sum of parts can't be more than a couple of quid. If you can find a friend who's good with electronics, then perhaps you can convince them to make one for you.

You're other option would be to get a programmable ECU from DTA or MoTec. These cost in the region of £600-£2000 though and you'd need to map your engine which takes a lot of work.

thanks for that but ill keep it as it is and spend ma cash on doin ma loop and supercharger conversion but thanks for all ur replys

  3. When your brake light switch is activated the engine goes into limp home mode.

Thats why its better to have a cable operated throttle ;)

thanks for the pic and u know wot ill put up with it just out of intrest how long did it take u to do the job start to finish and how much swearing involved?? :coffee:

  4. good to hear,

  5. Not going to be something you can change on the cheap. No matter what you do to the throttle an arosa isn't going to pin you to your chair lol

argh rite thats a shame as it the only thing letting the car down lol oh well it got good throttle wen un plant it it just got no feeling to it when u drive thanks any way

  6. still a shame though :coffee:

b reight its not causing any harm at the mo as it having a supercharger strapped to it with a REAL intercooler end of day i carnt stand euro style toooo boring its all about my style yes every 1 entitled to their opinions but it me who drives it must admit the bumper is a bit ott but i like it wouldnt of bought it other wise lol as 4 graphics they have gone rear light have gone and it now has diffrent alloys on and the bumper is now meshed as well i have now learnd the error of my ways but hey it my car hahahaah

  7. av just bought a seat arosa sport and found out it has drive by wire throttle wot ever that is how would i go about changing it to throttle cable???wot would i need?? as personaly i think its crap it like driving a automatic the way u got to plant the throttle to get any were

  8. No, its an interfooler.

    ;)

i like the quotes that have bein left they made me laugh but i was troubled back then.it dosent look like that now and as a few people of said it down to me wot it looks like and so on and yes i bought an arosa and ull b pleased it stayin standard  oh and it wasnt apeie of wood it was an aluminum box with cnc cut holes and mesh

  9. The Arosas are Drive by wire, you must have an early lupo sport do you? The earlies are cable driven.

Nice choice in car btw, get some pics up :shades:

Does it have the nice 15" Sport wheels?

yearh it a early it 2000 reg the loop and yearh it got the nice 15s dont like the drive by wire u have to plant it to getany were how does it work as im not up on it as they say

  10. set up right they can be spot on. The standard brakes on my rocco are far better than on my lupo it just people dont know how to adjust them correctly so some can be dangerous!

As for if you are doing the right thing, it is exactly what i did (but at least i still partly own a rocco with my dad as a project 16v :shades: ) You may find that you really like the loop/rosa i have to say that i love aspects of it but feel that other aspects such as the handling and feel can not stack up to the scirocco.

I also dont like the fuel usage as i dont feel its much better than the rocco considering that the car is so much slower. I will admit however i only have a 1.4 non sport.

Having said all that the lupo /rosa is the only small car i would have and i am sure that you will love all the cool things about the car :shades:

well the deal is done and i now have a 2003 arosa in black with 12670 miles on clock so it can sit next to my lupo sport lol im greedy i was sad to see my rocco go had such fun and the handeling was spot on and as 4 the breaks if used right they were good i only got the rosa as im still rebuilding my lupo sport that the 100bhp 1 as well quick question is the rosa drive by wire or wot ever it is and how does it work as lupo is cable driven

  11. as the title shows im selling my vw scirocco mk 2 gt and in a few hours or so ill b getting a mk seat arosa sport 100bhp version am i doing the right thing?????? my heart says yes iam but my head says am stupid who shall i listyen to???????

  12. see my problem too at: http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=36042

Same probelm, same low mileage. Mine's a 2002 1.4 sport.

This lupo burning oil business seems to be a real issue. A friend suggested to me that there may be a design fault with Lupo engines that VW won't admit to. Can anyone substantiate this claim?

ive got this problem with my lupo replaced stem seals and put it back together and it still smokes but i put 2 gaskets on and put it bk together its just burning coolant nw from i took the head off but im hoping wen i do an oil chage itl b ok

  13. hey people well im now a arosa sport owner as well as a lupo sport owner both the 100bhp versions i got a few questions is the arosa and lupo same? aka engine and wot not??? and wot do i have to look out 4 on the rosa? problems and wot not its only done 12500 miles and i paid 4500 is that a good price with full service history and one owner. ?????ill try get some pics up of both my cars well when my lupo is up and running that is

  14. Wrong on so many levels.

What is the difference between colin mcrae and gary glitter?

Only two kids went down on colin's chopper...

what do you call a lesbian dinasaure???? lickolotopuss

  15. how far have you got with the project

so far ive gotthe charger measured up and fitted got the tubing wot ill need and the ecu wot am wanting and getting the decomp plate made up so it just down to cash at the mo but i got to replace the piston rings as it buring oil. any chance you could send me some pics to c how yours is put to gether please paul if it no trouble????

  16. I think he meant the alternator, nobody's silly enough to think of a timing belt.

since I'm in the process of doing this and I believe I've got it all right maybe we should do a post with all the stuff you need ?

fao paul am using the eaton charger from cooper s same as you and it still got the factory pully on it and as 4 the timing belt am not that stupid to mess round with it lol was thinkin of using a timing belt of a 2ltr to use as the auxcilary belt but ill just use a belt wot paul just mentiond

  17. very similar i think. I don't know the fundamental differences though. Aside from that they are italian in design i think. They were also used on Lotus Esprits' too.

Hopefully there'll be a few old schoolers.

wot other car u got? av got the rocco and vw lupo soon to b supercharged i hope lol
