I miss my old car, im liking what you have done with it so far though. Making me wish I had held onto her for just a bit longer lol. Can’t wait to see her fully finished.

well ive had to rise the suspension up cos it was that low the arches just sat on the tyres at one point, its frustrating cos i know it can go lower but the width of the tyres are stoping it, they are still scrubbing and damaging the tyre wall now even though ive lifted it up, i cant find any where that does 195/40/15 on thing i can find is some 165/50/15 on mytyres. I cant fnd anywhere that rolls arches in lincoln for less than £300 so the tyres which are goin to need replacing soon are my first prioty to get right so i can stop some scrubbing and slicing style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />
My schmidts had 195/45's on and scrubbed on the inside of the front arches (mine are 7" ET25) but they are fine with 165/50/15's and look quite good too. Still have a decent amount of grip as well.

I cant make it tomorrow unfortunately, my car is completely ****** at the moment. Hopefully I will be able to make the next one.

It seems Just Car Clinic are under obligation to complete the job properly so back its going on Tuesday. Its a shame but im going to give them a hard time about doing it properly as I think they need a kick up the ass. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" />

Yeah mate if you could

Ill turn up too if my car isnt in another body shop

Cheers for the info everyone, do u have a name, address or contact number for the body shop you use Chris? I haven’t herd anything from the engineers yet but im hopeful they will let me send it somewhere else.
-
yeah you can choose where the car is repaired, it may take a little longer to process if its not a place the insurance usually deal with.
...luckily when i needed my door done - i asked for it to be done at my local vw/bmw approved mill car clinic, and it was on the insuarance company's list of places they use.
they done a good job - but as far as im concerned once the car gets bits of paint done it never looks right. especially with silver.
i think aligning the panels just takes a little time. gti front ends always look a bit out imo - but you should be able to find a happy medium which looks better.
hope you can get it sorted matey.
andrew
Cheers matey
I am hoping I can send it somewhere else as Just Car Clinic in Hartlepool is where it was sent originally and I don’t think there up to it. It has only just opened up so I am guessing its full of trainees with little experience.
I don’t know of any VW approved body shops in the area and the local stealers don’t have a body shop. Does anyone on here know of any decent/approved body shops in the north east area?

Thanks for the comments about the wheels, its a damn shame the steelies will be going back on again soon style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" />
That looks quite a bad fit, did the insurance choose the garage? I think they should pay for it to go to the main dealers. The insurance company chose the garage but I have complained to them and refused to send it back. The work they have done has been pretty shocking to be honest, the first time they tried to give me the car back the wheel arches had been put back on incorrectly over the wings, the sills had been chipped, the paintwork was crap (running paint etc) and the bonnet and wings were about 3-5mm out of alignment style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
Just waiting for the insurance company to send one of their engineers out to inspect it and fingers crossed it will be sent to a half decent body shop style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Got the car back on Friday a month after it was booked in, gave it a clean and put the th lines back on, I am really liking the look of the stretch but unfortunately the job the body shop have done is crap and I am in the process of complaining border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />

the rear will be getting lowered as soon as the car looks right as its sitting abit high at the moment.
A few of the paintwork:

Just bought me some 165/50/15 potenzas and had them fitted today. I had to hunt around for somewhere who would do it but eventually found a small back street garage who would. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
They will be going back on the car as soon as it is back from the body shop as its not looking to good at the moment border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
