hi i dont know much about the hankook ventus z211. know the R888 though.
i'm just kind of saying as an opinion this is where the money gets really well spent in speed terms. although the money is lost afterwards as the track will use a new set of tyres right down to the legal limit in one day. so thats like £300 gone in one go. but still its good.
i managed to get some reduced price avon road legal track tyres awhile ago. from new they lasted 1000-1500 miles until wear indicator was showing and that was from daily road use not track.

i think the best things you can ever do is get the highest quality track tyres. nothing gets close you when you have the tyre advantage. taking into account all the modifications listed above i believe a standard gti would do a better lap if it was on very good tyres.
-
thats a good price if its including the clutch aswell.

could be warranty issues?
if VW intended it to be a deterrent they missed a more evil trick. if i was in charge it would be the opening of the ecu case, a warning buzzer then an internal speaker activates a lady voice intones "Detonation in 5...4....3....2...."
BANG!

i dont think you will get a rubber bend for £5....
-
so is the 1.4 kit cheaper than the gti? if not then say you want one for the gti? or just say you want a gti kit anyway.

yes its gone through lots of name changes. not final i dont think.
not sure when released. we dont get out ps3 until next march anyway. should be out by then.
gt is real enough for me to enjoy it as a simulator. next one should be improved in all areas.
-
its on the uk site. £235 this setup and from the looks of it the above as its exactly the same is for the 1.0 , 1.4 and 1.7 only.
i believe this is the cheaper option though as in the tail pipe exits are stainless chromium but the rest is aluminised mild steel. hence the price.

cool. well i think gt5 will be more realistic. but surely it will have the best graphics of any other driving simulaton?
ps3 will be worth it for the blueray?
-
will you be getting ps3 and gt5 (vision gt). thats going to be HD resolution. i will be getting it for sure! at that point i will either get hd projector or tv. and then hope some terrestial tv gets broadcast in HD.
-
an hd projector? they must be quite new? wonder how it can be clearer though if my ps2 is the same resolution as your ps2...?
definately interested in getting my own projector setup.
-
it looks clearer image than my widescreen tv. nice.
how much for a projector and screen or did you make the screen yourself?
-
nice.
-
depends how you look at it i suppose.

i would have thought the vw ecu would be more right than a remap could be. the correct developed maps would be created by vw.

I don't like paying for the license and I think the beeb should sell commercials like everyone else but they got the government bent over a barrel and the government really can't be bothered with sorting it out. I can’t complain really I got sky+ in every room with every channel for free! Smug *******!
Personally I think once everything goes totally digital and they turn off the analogue transmissions people should be able to opt out of paying for the beeb. I.e. the BBC becomes subscription channel on sky or cable VOD or what ever it's going to be.
however that will never happen as all the new tv, lcd screens etc are all having built in freeview so still going to get screwed by the BBC
totaly agree.
-
Im with Adam, why bother, a simple remap will give you a nice boost.
I'd say 11-11.5k for a year old car. God knows how the trade values these, obviously they aren't holding nearly aswell as the Mk5 Golf.
it would be a decision based on cost. about £60 in total to get 180bhp or £300 for a remap. i would get the economic option by habbit.
-
i have just measured my lupo gti anti roll bar using my recently purchased digital calipers. the answer is 21mm for the lupo gti.
which is the same as the eibach and h+r kits in size it would seem.

no big loss if cup doesnt come? this is a guess but wouldnt a salvage ecu (£30ish) out of any other 180bhp vag give you the upgrade needed? then get vw to recode the immobiliser?
-
no not riding any barriers. i think if i didnt do the cut i could just equal your time.
in terms of how fast i can drive nurburgring strictly on licence test i have got a saved ranking times with silver cups on the special licence on 3 runs i got
7'18.810
7'18.802
7'18.693
i think 7'18 is where my time is at lol. would love to get a gold on this. would need a bit more patience.
