  1. Here's my yellow 2001 1.7 SDI which I've owned for ten years. I think it's had only 2 previous owners from new - sisters from the same family. Had only 40K miles when I bought it. Now on 124K miles, it's been my daily M4 drive to work all this time.. not been given a tough life. Drives very well.

It's a very rare 'colour concept' model with black & yellow full leather & heated seats. Nice factory original alloys and spoiler. Always serviced on schedule, it's got a comprehensive history, a recent MOT, recent major service & a new rear section exhaust. It's had the pedal box replaced under my ownership (the only common Lupo weakness I know of). It has a decent Pioneer DAB radio with USB port and the VW cubby hole below.

Gave me 70mpg on a recent trip to Plymouth. Cheap to tax. Good Avon tyres all round.

Faults: One window switch needs replacing.

Not a fault - but info.. it will need it's belt doing at end of the year or in 6K miles.

Would love to sell this to someone that 'cares'. Only selling as now have three kids & needed a 5 door. Can be seen & tested (need to see insurance) at RG31 5BB Tilehurst.

    £1,350 ovno. Cheers Ed

  2. As much as I love my Lupo, 3 kids means a bigger car!

IT's a yellow 2001 1.7 SDI - I believe a 'colour concept' with black & yellow full leather & heated seats. Nice original alloys, spoiler (original) . Has a comprehensive history, 120K miles, fresh MOT , fresh large service all filters etc & New exhaust. Pioneer DAB radio with USB port. Good condition (not show condition).  Drives perfectly & totally reliable. faults: One lecky window switch needs replacing & the drivers door makes a knock when opened - suspect the strap needs doing.

Sorry if sounds like an ad but listing as much as I can think of !

    Cheers

Personally I don't see the point in upgrading just the speakers. The factory speakers are very good when it comes to just being ran from the head unit. Say you have a 45w head unit, it's only ever going to output that much, and even with the best speakers in the world it might not sound any better, particularly if you're looking for volume, it will only get distorted higher on. In my first Lupo I had some JBL GTO speakers (can't remember the exact name) with a planet audio amp, and a pioneer head unit, and it sounded brilliant.. So when it came time to get the Lupo I have as a rally car now, I bought another set of the same speakers and ran them initially off the standard HU, then an aftermarket one; I wish I'd have kept the factory speakers as they sounded much quieter and were seriously lacking compared to the standard ones.

IMO you'd be better off running an amplifier to the standard speakers in place of aftermarket speakers, or even better amp-+ speakers

OK understood. Please point me at a good (& budget friendly) amp in that case. It's not really volume, but better quality I'm looking for. Spend a lot of time in the car!

  4. Hi - I've had the factory head replaced with a nice DAB Pioneer with USB - love it. Next I'd like to improve the speakers. No after an extra amp.

Is there no point just replacing the door speakers without upgrades the dash (tweeters?) as well?

Saying that not 100% sure anything comes out from the dash.. need to test!

Is it 6" units for the door? Seem to be getting different opinions online some say 6", some say 6.5"

Car is a 1.7SDI colour concept. No rear speakers.

    Cheers guys
