  1. Where abouts in Manchester are you? I saw a lad with his missus getting out of a silver GTI in the Orient at the Trafford Centre a while back and gave him a nod of acknowledgement. I was in my jazz blue SPORT and my mate was in his very nice silver Arosa 16 valver aswell... could have been a mini meet eh?! There aren't many Lupo GTIs about, that's why I ask. They're not really yellow Punto Sportings! I keep seeing a red one around aswell. Wouldn't mind a spin in this Lupo. I've just got rid of the SPORT for a better car (yayyy) and have always wondered what the difference between that and a GTI are.
  2. Looking at spending around 600 dabs. Seen the streetpilot III and the Navman 620.... Which one is the best or are there any other good products? I've been looking at flip down sun visors/tvs and pull down screens that attach to the roof. is this a yay or a nay any advice would be appreciated.
  3. Just getting shut of it they offered an ok `part-ex`, not the best, but being an import they said it would need a UK warranty etc, blah blah... Crusoe, of course I'll keep coming back on here, got much respect for the Lupo. I only had a 16v which was nippy, and I still want a GTI in the near future as a second `run-around`. One of my fave cars! Yeah in the 200BHP plus league now lads (*ner ner ne ner ner*) hehe only messing! I'll have to learn to drive it first haha.
  4. Cheers for all the advice fellas. All sorted out now, but I pushed, sorry I rammed the boat out a bit. Went to the Audi dealers yesterday looking for a 210BHP S3, ended up having a nail biting `test-drive` in a 220 one and bought it. It's a 52 reg, dolphin grey, low mileage, top condition, full leather, chrome mirrors, electric sunroof, climate control etc. Don't know what's standard on the S3 so I'll stop there. I bought a tracker for it and then persuaded the dealer to stick a 6cd system in the boot for free to which (after asking his boss) he obliged. Picking it up in 10 days after full service, refurbishment, private reg changeover and extras are added. I'll miss the Lupo but anticipate a lot of fun in the S3. May up the power after my 3rd year of NCBs comes along!
  5. Excellent suggestions! The clio v6 is one of my favourite cars on the road (well, I see one every blue moon!) However, it is a 2 seater, something I'd rather not have, and I am sure that I wouldn't be able to get a quote on the likes of that or the Vauxhall. Would definitely be a great weekend/second car!
  6. I must clarify before I am interrogated. He cut me up racing so as the next lights went on green we both booted it and I could see him looking in his mirror as I stayed behind him. It was pretty mcuh the same although he would have had me eventually. It's just good for that shock factor.
  7. You will enjoy it a lot. Good on you! My SPORT is `bog-standard` `engine-wise` (as far as I know) and you can really give people surprises in it. The saxo/corsa/clio/punto barryboys will be gutted! The thing I like about my Lupo is the fact that it looks so innocent but nice at the same time. A little lady's shopping car! Haha. I have shown some really cool cars the baby Lupo power, for instance an St170 just the other day... and he was trying. You better believe it!
  8. I couldn't even get a quote on a `bog-standard` WRX haha.
  9. It's a bit of a bummer about the `Non-Uk` Spec thing. I'll see what I can do about it private sale. Like I say, I am prepared to wait so it's cool.
  10. For a fellow Lupo fanatic, of course! I'll keep you posted. No offers to buy it then? hehe
  11. Cheers for the advice Crusoe! Yeah, I could try putting it in a VW mag or on `Auto-trader`. I can wait anyway - there's no rush to get rid until a good offer for buying and selling comes along.
  12. I think they are the ZW4 Cuprad ones but I dunno. They are 5 spoke deep dish. I am just unsure how much to sell the Lupo at or whether to save time, just `part-ex` it and take the shafting.
  13. Hi fellas and it's nice of you to reply. I have looked at the Civic type R and although it's a nice car, I don't like this `V-tec` idea whereby you need to screw the balls off it etc. Torque is about the same as a Loopy TDI hehe! I rang for an S3 quote which was only 400 quid a yr more than the Lupo quote (i.e. the same amount as it cost me to insure the Lupo last year hehe!) I also asked for a WRX quote but was knocked back, being under 25 years old. Yes, I definitely want a second hand car fellas. Do you mean you could help me with a price for selling my Lupo? I am thinking of going private and am unsure of a price. I don't know what is standard and what isn't etc. Here are the details: 2002 '02 Lupo 16 Valve Sport (100BHP) in Jazz Blue Excellent condition, well looked after. 28,000 miles on the clock, a lot of Motorway miles though. Extras include: Volkswagen fitted Cd player and satellite Navigation system Scorpion 1014 (cat 1, I think) alarm. Includes mechanism which closes all windows and sunroof upon activation Electric Sunroof Air Con/ Climate Control (yes, clim.contr. Not even an option in the U.K. I hear) Spoiler `Cup-holders`/Electric mirrors (heated I think) Eibach lowered and hardened suspension 15 Inch RH Alloy wheels have some scuffing, however, still look good. `De-locked` doors on both sides, good security measure That might be the lot but there might be more. How much do you reckon that could sell at? I have seen some `average-ish` Lupos of the same age go right up to 7 grand on `Auto-Trader`. I think this car is pretty individual and would be a great buy. Any more opinions on the S3/Leon debate would be great. I reckon I could get a newish Leon R but obviously an older 210BHP S3. I want a newer car like the Leon but my instinct is with an S3. Cheers David
  14. Hi people, I am having the sudden urge to buy a new car. I am 21 years old so have to take insurance into account, but I want to spend around `14-15k` max on a new car so the rest of the £££ can be spent on Sat Nav and a Road Angel etc. My old car had Sat Nav so I can't go from a car with it, to one without it. I want something that handles well and is in the 6 secs to 60 mark, plenty of power and torque that can keep up with the WRX in scenarios. My options are currently a 210bhp Audi S3 OR a leon Cupra R. Because the Cupra R is cheaper than the S3, within my alloted price bracket, the Leons are newer, and with less mileage. However, they are slightly dearer to insure... What do you all reckon? Also, anyone on here have any advice on selling the Lupo? I think a private sale is in order because in my opinion it's one of a kind. Anyone want to buy it? cheers, David.
  15. Had the same kinda reading of `8-9mph` less in a turbo'd scooby Impreza, no wheel mods, nothing. I hear this is usual in cars, as it will keep your speed down (yeah right!) I dunno if this would be allowed though?
  16. Cheers. I've got a few more pics of the interior, and from different angles etc. It's not bad, will do me through uni til I get a job

  18. Hang on I think I have hosted it. Look in the readers rides
  19. Just sent the one three quarter profile, but can do some more for you.
  20. How much for my car approximately? I wouldn't have the foggiest. I could post pics also I think... Fully serviced 02 registration Lupo Sport 16valve, 100bhp in Jazz Blue. Has done just 21,000 miles and the warranty will not run out til 2005. Great condition, almost like new. Features include: `Factory-Fitted` VW Satellite Navigation and cd System (has some `Anne-Robinson` esque voice thing). Got the `cd-rom` also Lowered and stiffened suspension by Eibach Fully delocked door system Scorpion 1014 alarm system (windows go up automatically once you lock it) Electric `Sun-roof` Climate Control/Air con Deep dish upgraded Alloy wheels, 15 inch by RH I dunno what is standard here but these are a few of the nice features it has. Any ideas price wise?
  21. Would my factory fitted `Sat-Nav` system fit into a Lupo GTI and the standard GTI system fit in my 16V if I decided to go up a model? This was my idea for when I am finally 21 with 2 years NCB (Jan '04). I was thinking of changing my insurance providers and getting a GTI Lupo. I've now (almost) decided against the idea. My Lupo has enough extras to keep me happy for the time being. I am gonna finish my uni course, get a 'proper' job and then get a 'proper' car! But I still wanna test drive (or at least sit in) a GTI. Anyone around Manchester got one?
  22. Jon, I think you are either wrong or someone was wrong in cocking up your insurance premium. A new driver, 18, with 3 points - 1300 squid? I am 20, have 1 year's NCB, and a clean licence. I also have a pass plus certificate. My insurance on the 1.4 16v is 1500 with Tesco.
