  1. Karting Nord in 2006, we were next to Team Prawn.

2007 we were in the crappy one full of single ready raised red tents with Johhny Foreigner.

Great for the track, but rubbish atmosphere.

No, you northern t1t! Houx Annexe in 06 and karting nord in 07. You are right though that karting nord was full of foreign tw@ts, the video you took with the lens cap on when we were about to get a foreign beating always makes me chuckle!

  2. You're a bit in the poo if you want a decent vx forum. vx220.org.uk has suffered an influx of chavs asking for lexus lights (much like here a while back) so not the nicest place to be at the mo; great library of info if you do a search on there though. Then there's t116 which is where the people that no longer own a vx go. I'd stick to the vw social side of things!

  3. Another yellow plastic vauxhall on the forum; what great taste you have! Regarding the wheels, forget everything you learned at dub school and as matt said, don't ruin the handling. You're very limited to what wheels wheels you can actually get in 16/17 combo, mainly Team dynamics. If you want to put sticky tyres on (toyo 888's etc) then change the wheels. If not just keep the standard ones, maybe have them powder coated, get some new bridgestones and make sure the geo is sorted.

Now, go and book a track day with lots of run off, or a driver activity day and see how far you can push it and what its like when it goes!

  4. Max do you know of any specialist garages which have VX220's? Ive heard of purelotus and adrian blyth (which isn't too far from me)

Are there any others to have a look out for? I like the yellow ones too but ide prefer red or black :D

I'm not sure about any other specialists; I do know Adrian Blyth are very expensive though!

I'd have a look on vx220.org.uk in the for sale section. Chances are you'll be able to track the cars history going through the sellers posts.

  5. I've had my 2.2 vx for nearly 4 years now and I love it. I originally bought it as my only car which wasn't a problem- did 20k miles in the first year. I've had a company car for the last 3 years so it has been sat in the garage waiting or a sunny day. The heaters are ****, is a handfull in the wet, you are petty close to your passenger, it rattles, but none of that matters, as soon as you get behing the wheel on a dry clear welsh road theres nothing you'd rather be in.

They're cheap to run, the mechanical bits are from a vectra so will last forever and tuning them is starting to become cheaper and easier. I do the 1000mile round trip to Le Mans in the summer without any problems and you can get 5 crates of cheap french lager in the boot.

Oh, and above all, just look at them, things of beauty! Unfortunately I may have to sell mine this year to fund the new pad; I''m just doing my sums first though as I dont want to get rid.

  6. Are you all going mad?!?!

A guy in the office has a 225 with a jbs remap, exhaust and filter. Its somewhere in the region of 270/280 bhp but it feels like its going to fall apart. In the wet all 4 wheels spin in 1st and 2nd then tends to understeer a lot. Also being a lanky cont I have to sit with my head at an angle and there's barely enough room for my left knee between the gear stick and the bus-like steering wheel.

    Then there's the......
