  1. Before i sold my Lupo i gave it quite a good clean (rubbish compared to most of you) and i cleaned a few places that i had never cleaned before i thought they may get overlooked.

Behind the rubber on the b-pillar.

With the steering rake all the way down inside the gap

And i now you wouldn't usually take this off when cleaning your car but i popped the rear storage pockets off, was stinking in there.

Can anyone else think of any places?

  2. 2001 Lupo SE.
    Flash Red
2 owners from new (first for over 10 years)
    Mileage:55,505 (will go up slightly)
2x sets of keys and Unique Key Tag (plastic)
    Service History and Documentation

    Wheels/Tyres:

    Standard '5 star softline' alloys 13x5.5 ET38
    3x Yokohama A539 175/50/13 6mm
    1x Pirelli Drago 175/50/13 5mm

Standard suspension with brand new front and rear top mounts and rear bump stops (2months ago)

    Engine:

Run on V-Power religiously for 90% of the 1 Year and 3/4 months i've had the car (apart from fuel shortages, panic buying)
Timing belt, tensioner, and auxillary belt @ 43,710
Oil serviced 4 times since i've had the car, using a bottle of Forte motor flush everytime. and using Castrol Edge Full Synthetic 5/30 and a genuine oil filter. until last oil service were the oil was changed to Edge 5/40. (december 2012)
Fuel filter's been replaced 3 times
Spark Plugs were replaced with NGK platinum electrode
Had a new genuine VW economy range mid section and rear silencer exhaust system
Coil pack was replaced for a genuine item when it failed
Coolant temperature and radiator core sensor has been replaced
ALWAYS warmed up. either by waiting for temperature gauge to reach 90 or driving under 2000rpm until so.

    Brakes:

Has had new front discs in the time i've had the car as well as EBC Green Stuff pads, but the car could really do with a brake fluid change.
The Handbrake holds very well but could do with a strip down and clean as it's a bit sticky first thing (does not bind) 2x new genuine hand brake cables supplied.

Interior: Standard, but with the small additions of a GTI gearknob/gator, black rear view mirror and polo headrests as well as standard 'hoop' type ones. Has all original floor mats, the drivers one being a little worn, with all others being in good condition.

    *BAD POINTS*

Clutch release bearing is suspected to be worn out, creating noise.
Hasn't had wheel alignment since new top mounts
Rear top mounts knock, have the spacer tubes to fix this
One quite large dent to the drivers side rear quarter (will get pics)
front bumper and lower bumper have taken a beating were it was used in the snow when down on coilovers
Poor paintwork at the rear (boot and bumper)
Few parts are off the car and haven't been put back on (rear trim card panels, rear top mount panels and plastic panel in the boot)

For the sale car will have:

    Full tank of V-Power
    Tyres re-inflated with Nitrogen
    various parts:
    GTI Leather steering wheel
GTI rear trim panels (for rear speaker components)

    *Based In South Wales*

Wish i could keep the car, but hoping that there is someone that can bring this car right up to the mark.

  3. Thanks Alex great little tip, very helpful:)

The car has been on TA Technix coilovers for a while now and they're terrible. Ever since they've been on the rear top mounts have knocked like crazy. its really **** and i can't take it anymore, so was wondering if these would work:

    http://www.psituning.com/product.php/20097/polybush_polyurethane_top_mounts__pair____golf_mk4_etc___lupo_polo_6n_2

I know it cleary shows the front suspension in the picture, so if these wouldn't work it's a case of brand new oem ones then?

    Thanks everyone

  4. I have a few standard parts if anyone is interested in swapping ?

Standard black interior mirror, and a light grey one

    Standard steering wheel

    '01 spec 'hoop' headrests (4)

    Beta VW/Blaupunkt head unit

Rear trim panels (ones under the window)

Standard headlights, passenger side one has one broken bracket

    Probably have more to add.

  5. To minimise the risk of damaging anything you need to take the bumper off as theres a bolt holding the headlight in at the bottom of the headlight, so to get to that easily the bumper has to come off.

  6. Since we have had this nice weather my lupo is idling at near enough 1k more than it does idle normally (around 700rpm) and this isn't when the fan is on. it also hit 2k when started up on automatic choke. A friend told me it could be the throttle position sensor and he gave it a scan with vag com.. nothing. and am i right in thinking if that was the problem the EPC light would be illuminated as my 1.0 8v MPI uses fly-by wire throttle. But could the T.P.S still be at fault ? Thanks
