  1. Has it ever been in a shunt?

Yeah thought about that aswell mate but definatly not had a shunt done all the checks possible and no signs anywhere of previous damage. When i say its rubbing i mean only just and only on bad bumps porbs another 2-3mm clearance and there wouldnt be an issue. Thanks for trying to help me out mate.

  2. I just got some 20mm hubcentric spacers for the rear of laurens car and fitted them yesterday and one wheel is rubbing on the rear arch. Just to put you in the picture we are running 7x16" wheels with et 35, and 195/40/16 toyo`s, with the adjusters out on fk coilovers. Now stright away the rear drivers side was rubbing on some bumps etc. So today i tried putting the adjusters back in and still the rear drivers side is rubbing on the odd bump etc. The weired thing is even with the adjusters out the passenger side had no rubbing at all and really i want the spacers on with the adjusters out because it looks just right and i was finally happy with the stance. Then i noticed there seems to be a bit of cross camber on the rear because you can see by eye that the passenger side has a bit more negative camber than the drivers side which i think is causing the drivers side to rub. When you feel under the arches you can feel there is probs around 5 -10mm difference in clearance between the two sides, between the tyre wall and the arch (the arches are rolled by the way). Now to make things even more strange i have looked at the alignment chart from the previous owner that was only done on 03/10/10 and its saying the passenger side rear has -1.19 camber and 2.9mm toe and the drivers side has -1.28 camber and 5.6mm toe so there for the side that is rubbing according to the chart has more negative camber than the side that is`nt but by looking you can clearly see that it has`nt?? I have tryed everything i can think of but to no avail. Has anyone any ideas because this is winding me up no end :angry2: Your help would be very much appreiciated guy`s thanks very much baz.

  3. Not sure if i know the Type R.

Just wondering as a GTi went past me the other night near Flimby and it was quite loud and there's only 1 other GTi in Whitehaven/Workington area and that's completely standard. Just thought it was maybe you.

Yeah that will probably of been my wife.

  4. Where abouts in Cumbria you from dude?

I am live near maryport now mate but origanly from workington. If you live around here you will probs av more chance of knowing my old cars more tham me. Had a couple of cars that where fairly well known around this area including a certain black civic type r like that i bought brand new and spent an absolute fortune on.

I was never a fan of it on the white rims to be honest. Heres a pic from my time, I sold it 2 and a half years ago. cant believe I have been lupoless for so long to be honest.

Now i drive a Honda Civic diesel to cope with my 100 mile commute!

Im loving its current look though! if you ever want to sell drop me a line. Could easily be tempted to buy it back!

Thanks very much mate. I did`nt like the white rims either to be honest so thought i would try something a bit different. Just got some spacers cheap so gunna give them a go see what it looks like. I will post some more pics up when ive got them on tommorow. I will certanlly let you know first if/when lauren decieds she wants a change.

  6. The ktm is a bit of a beast to be honest mate probs a bit to much. Nice bike though with all the extra`s brembo, wp etc. The kxf is a lot nicer bike to ride whether it be a 250 or 450. The ktm just try`s to eject you at every chance it gets

  7. Thanks very much mate. I think the front needs to come down just a tad but dreading it to be honest because they look siezed pretty bad. I will just give it a go and see what there like if i cant move them i suppose it`l after stay as it is.

  8. Well tried to get the adjusters out tonight and could`nt get the bolts in the bottom of the shock loose for s**t. They are seized solid try`ed wd40 and everything else i could think of but they are going nowhere. So going to lend some spring compressers of a mate tommorow and hopefully i will be able to jack up the car and compress the spring enough to just lift it out over the baseplates (as the spring is pretty loose anyhow) then remove the adjusters. I hope anyhow.lol. Anyone tryed this method out?

  9. Do you have to have it on axel stands to do it or can you just get away with it on a trolly jack abviosly with something underneath incase it slipped. And do you need to take the wheels of or can you just do it from the back with the wheels left on?
