  1. Have you tried getting the leads on a Sunday?

The tape was there to stop it from sparking (which worked) the reason for this was so i could get to the garage.

I went to the garage as the exhaust light was on! When a car misfires it can KILL the cat so always best to get it checked!!!

The garage doesnt have them in stock until tomorrow and phoning around local i cant get hold of the orignal VW ones any faster!

When the car was serviced the HT leads are removed to get to the spark plugs the leads generally are not replaced unless needed! Now they are tight in there and looking at it the GOON that did my service used a screwdirver to get them off!!!!!!! (you can pull them off with your hand) the screw driver or whatever was used put a small punture hole in the side of the lead creating a spark and making it misfire.

  2. I did offer you some leads on the R/R page!

So your GTI is at keiths! im going round there now to nick your wheels! laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I should have looked on the page thanks for the offer mate your a star are you around this evening? I could speak to keiths and get there before they close and buy yours of you? If you around? If not ill leave it with them and pick it up tomorrow.

Ill also buy you a drink or a few!

  3. Ok got in car this morning to drop GF home and noticed something didnt feel right, car was misfiring so i pulled over had a look under the bonnet and could see a spark coming from a HT lead!

The car was serviced last week and looking at the marks on the top of the engine it looks like the leads were levered out using a screwdriver!!!!!!! Which may have caused the hole! im really not a happy bunny was just about to leave for the rolling road day!

Now i have to wait until tomorrow to book the car in to get sorted!

At present as i had to get to work i patched the hole using tape which has stopped the car miss firing yet the light is still on!

Do you think there is any more damage?

Anyone got a spare set of HT leads around?

    Nick

  4. Stay away from powerflow in Essex i think there are two of them and a friend of mine had nothing but problems with his. He had it rebuilt in Aylesbury by Tim who also took pictures of how the exhaust was and sent them off to powerflow!

Now i no Aylesbury isnt the cheapist powerflow around but there is a reason for this! the product is fine if built correctly

  5. was sitting on 20" with air bag suspension i was talking to AdamK bought this just the other day.

The owner (paul) was finishing the interior from what i beleive ready for its first show and left the soldering iron on! He has two focus the other with Lambo doors so maybe all his work will go onto that one now!

I really hated the artwork on the bonnet not nice at all but you could see the time and effort that had gone into the car!
