  1. Funnily enough I hit the tyres at Sawbench on my previous visit to Wiscombe. King of the just too late brakers. I have a new wing from e-bay but haven't found the time to fit it yet. Currently hanging out at Bangkok airport.
  2. At the moment I have Duran supersport 195 55 15 They are not very good Really need a set of Toyo 888 or Yokohama 048s. Trouble is it means having a spare set of wheels for use during the week.
  3. You would need an MSA license and to join a local motor club. Best place to find friendly info would be from the local association, yours is: http://www.anwcc.org/ You'll also need a helmet gloves and overalls. I suggest you go to an event and talk to the organisers. In my experience grass roots motorsport is very welcoming to newcomers.
  4. No spare pennies for hybrid turbo yet but missed the tyres this time. Latest outing at Wiscombe: 2nd in class on Saturday out of 5, 5th in the rain on Sunday out of 13. Sorry to say that it looks like a breathed on Swift GTi is speedier than a diesel Lupo !!
  5. Next few hillclimbs are: Wiscombe Park 15-May Wiscombe Park 16-May Mamhead 29-May Mamhead 30-May Castle 10-Jul Castle 11-Jul Be good to see you. My own favorite option looks like a hybrid turbo from Turbo Techniques. Should be able to find 150- 160bhp. My tuner thinks we should see what the existing injectors can deliver before changing.
  6. Latest example of need for power. Still keen to know if anyone has got 150 + bhp from a 1.4 TDi
  7. Thanks for the comments. Its lowered by 30mm. Not keen on much lower as having some suspension helps with bumpy tracks. Rolling road showed 100bhp at the flywheel and 75 at the wheels. I have no idea where the loss is. Has anyone put in 360 thrust bearings on the standard Garret turbo and upped the boost ? It seems the simplest mod.
  8. Am hill-climbing a 1.4TDi Lupo but need more power and less body roll. Have had a remap but 75 hp at the wheels is proving embarrassing on the straights. See link for consequences of trying too hard.
