  1. I will now be using my lupo alot less now thanks to the crappy NCP car parks. I work at the local hospital for 4hours a day and can't get on the staff car park so have been parking across the road on an NCP car park which up until xmas eve cost me £3.30 a day. I go back to work on the 29 Dec only to find I have now got to pay £5 for up to 4hours when the Leicester Tigers next door charge £5 for a days parking. I emailed to complain as there were not advance warnings that the prices were going to go up and also the car park floods every time we have alot of rain and there are pot holes the depth of 3/4 of the height of your wheels and they have the nerve to put prices up without warning. They said that they are always looking at competitive pricing and sorry that I feel this way but hope I continue to use the car park. NOT ON YOUR NELLIE MATE!!! I have found out I can use the bus and get a ticket for 4 weeks for only £35.10....mmmm £125 a month for parking or £35 a month on the bus...Which would you choose????

Sorry needed to get that of my chest as I will miss my ride in my car, but going to try and beg for a staff pass seeing as I have worked there now for nearly 5 years.

Have to work out some trips at weekends now so I can keep the Lupo ticking over as not getting rid of it.

    Rant now over

    HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE

  2. Why do we always get smellies?????

I got smellies from the Sanctuary, Scooby Doo-The beginning DVD, Harry Potter and the half blood prince DVD, Sonic and Mario Winter Olympic Games for the Wii, another motion plus for my other Wii remote and a scented candle oh and a new bed but I've had that since the beginning of December.

Hope you all enjoyed your xmas dinner and who can't wait for Dr Who on New Years day?

  3. I think tints are a personal thing. I have my back and two rears done and I don't thing it looks daft not having the fronts done but thats me personally. Also having the backs done give you an extra sense of security if they are dark as it is not easy to see into the car from outside but easy to look out from the inside.

  4. 16000 miles in 8 years? :o Do you work next door to your house?

"Currently Driving: Manual Bike is in the shed now I have my Lupo back on the road"

Why was it off the road?

It was off the road cause I was. I suffer with epilepsy so every time I have a fit I have to hand my license back for 12 months hence low mileage.

  5. I brought mine new in 2001 from VW dealer and I have never had any problems with it, might be that I have only just done 16000 and I have it serviced and MOT every year. I only use the car to go to work and back and occassionaly I have gone to shows and my brother took it to Edition 38 one year when his car was of the road. So may be that I do not do the miles for anything to have gone wrong yet, but in 8 years not done bad.

Oh my window did get stuck a couple of weeks ago but the spring had just popped out of the sitting and it was just a case of putting it back but no other problems

  6. PMSL, you go on about irish logic what that meant to mean (you could just buy a car that is problem free from the beginning!?)

How do you know a car is problem free ?

to be honest where does this come from sevral trips to a dealer, because a 3 years warrenty covers virtually eveything, have you ever bought brand new car, how many times have you go to a garage to get something fixed,

and im not saying this in bad way or haveing a go at you, , just expressing my opnion

I brought my Lupo brand new from the dealership and have never had any problems with my car in the 8 years I have had it. The only times I have to go to the garage is for the MOT and service, so my opinion on Lupos is a great car and 110% reliable :D

  7. hi, how did u sort it out, as mine is similar. it creaks and crunches when moving

Had to take both door panels off and take out the mechanisum to the winder. When out the spring that winds the window up had come out of its housing so had to put back in. Cause it took abit of fiddling with the spring the plastic housing has crunched a bit so really need a new one. Now only wind my window down 3/4 of the way just incase it pops again.

    Hope this helps

    Sam

  8. Can anyone help me. My drivers window is stuck at a 1/4 way up and will not go up any further. Winder will go down but not up. Have taken door card off but can't see what has happened to the window. Still in clamps but can not even manually push window up. Any ideas as don't really want to leave car on driveway with window open all night until I can get to garage in the morning. All help will be very much appreciated.

  9. 1.0s are great, they are a little buzzy on the motorway, as its doing over 4Krpm at decent speeds. 4K is actually 75 on the clicks. Though i have regularily had 90 out of mine, it holds the speed well too.

The worst thing about 1.0s, is it hates hills, you really have to work it to get up steep climbs. But other than that im always amased when i get back in mine. I dont often drive it so think its really really slow, but it always impresses me that its not as slow as i think. It copes very well for something which has only 50bhp. I had a great day out in mine a few weeks back, on some good country roads, i didnt notice anyone keeping up with me either! Thing is to keep the speed high and just hold on, lose the speed and you will stop  Since the 1.0 is so light, its very chuckable and handles well. Though my 1.0S Arosa is the stiffest standard car i have been in, which probably helps the cornering.

Reliability wise, well ive probably had more problams than most, as mine had a new engine - when it was still under warranty. This was at only 25K miles and 2 years old. However i mainly put that down to the useless Seat dealer and the brain dead people who work there. They wouldnt listen to me, i had the car checked out by a good indy before i took it to the dealer, but they refused to believe what the problem was (sticking valve lifter) so set about ruining the engine! Eventually, after they had had my car for over 3 months! (i did have a Ibiza as replacement though) i got onto SeatUK, who were very helpful and requested to the dealer that a brand new engine was fitted. It was and 17K miles later its still running like a dream, very nice engine, which never uses a drop of oil or coolent. Plus the oil is never dirty. Mind its changed and flushed every 8 months, which in its current average mileage means every 2K miles.

Economy isnt too bad, at high motorway speeds it does drink a lot for a 1.0, but if you take it carefully you should see 45MPG without too much problem.

Id really recommend one, ive not heard of many problems with the 1.0, it seems the 1.4s tend to suffer from problems the worst.

Service it when it needs it, change the cambelt and water pump and you should have a very reliable car.

Oh, id recommend a 1.0S Arosa, very high spec for a 1.0 car, looks better and costs less B) - My opinion of course!

I agree with this. I own the 1.0l and have had mine for 8 years now and the only things I've had to replace are the usual at service miles (cambelt, sparks, oil filter, brake fluid etc). Would recommend it to anyone. I agree with the hills but it copes great on normal roads. Brill inner city car, gets in the smallest parking places, and keeps up with the traffic on the motorways. What more do you want from a car :)

  10. Need some office 07 software for my laptop, any reccomendations on where i can get some? x

I just brought Office Home and Student from Amazon for £53 and it is currently in PC world for £89. It has Excel, Word, Powerpoint and something called Onenote that I haven't tried yet

  11. Driving behind a black Lupo reg Y441*** yesterday(12/01/09) driving down the Aylestone Road and Lutterworth Road. I was behind you until the lights at Glenhills Boulavard/Soar Valley Way. You went straight over towards Blaby.

    Was it anyone on here?

  12. I didn't think much to it either. The adverts for it made it look brill. Going on what people are saying must have missed the best bits at the end as I fell asleep. Have to watch tonights then... :coffee:
