Thanks for the comments.
The good thing about using the sharpies is that when it fades I can just get my mate to recolour them!
I'd like to take the idea a bit further at some point - maybe do a whole bonnet or tailgate
-
Tidy, liking the steels too - nice and simple
-
Thanks - got the idea from my snowboard - a forum young blood 156 with a crazy design - and a new era cap designed by Jon Burgerman

Do they poke out the arches? If they do I'd guess et 23s unless your running massive adapters
-
Nice! I like the light painting too

Hey All
I've been a member for a while now and never really post much. Thought it was about time I shared some pictures of my Lupo with you.
It's a 03 plate Lupo TDI in Anthracite Grey. I haven't done many mods to the the car - I like stuff to look fairly OEM most of the time. It's had a remapped, lowered on AP coilovers and I've changed the rear lights to cambridge lights. Inside I have changed the front speakers and tweets for Alpine R components and the headunit is an Apline W404r Double Din Media Player.
Below are a few pictures of the Lupo before I put my most recent set of wheels on (I'll go into details in a mo)

Most of the time she sits on some G60 steelies but for edition this year I spent a bit of time getting a set of Porsche Teledials sorted. I bought a set last year offset et 52 before Edition and had the lips polished and rattle canned them ivory/cream. Looked ok from a distance but mank up close.
So this year I bought another set of teledials this time et 23. So that I could run et 52 on the front and et 23 on the rear.
So they started off like this:
And then I had them shot blasted, sprayed in white primer and got the lips and centres polished again. I then got a friend of mine whose an illustrator to use his creativeness and £35 worth of Sharpie marker pens to illustrate them. I really like the cartooning slightly crazed drawing look and my friend seemed quite happy to do it - not sure whether it's been done like this before or not.
These 3 were taken at Edition:
Since the show some bolt covers I ordered have arrived (did order them before Edition but they didn't turn up!)
Finally a picture taken at night - we were trying to be creative!!
Hopefully when I get a chance I'll get some better pictures of all the wheels on the Lupo - each one is different!
As for what's next - looking at getting a decat, apart from that I'm not sure.

I have a TDI and am looking at getting a set of 14 inch steels banded. They are currently 5.5j and I think 35 offset. Having tried them on yesterday we reckon 1.5 inch band on the front 2 inch band on the rear.
Just wondering what sizes people have had banded on TDIs before?
-
Mine definitely isn't a cheap respray!
-
Sounds good idea - as for location and time - I'm easy!
-
I've got a set of teledials and adapters just wondering what bolts people have used to bolt the wheels to the adapters?
Read somewhere about using VW ones and also genuine porsche ones.
-
I run 8j ET0 rear, 7j ET10 front, and the rears poke too much.
Plus, 13" Wellers probably won't fit over your brakes so i would give up while your ahead.
Some people have got them on their Lupo's - prehaps I'll go with 7's all round
-
-
are you kidding!!!!! 8x13 et -10???????
the "poke" on that will be so gay!!! i have et 0 at the back and 20 at the front and i have had to roll the arches at the back big time!! camber also helped with the arch problems!!
dont do -10 !!
I know but the wheels 8x13 either have ET -10 or -59!
Its either that or run 7x13 all the way round and space out the rears?
-
Thinking of getting some weller steels for my Lupo TDI.
I was thinking 8x13 ET-10 for the rear
and
7x13 ET 3 (or 24) for the front
Has anyone put wellers on a lupo or give some advice?
I guess some arch rolling might be needed for the rear?
Thanks in advance!

Might need to explain what I have done more clearly:
- Removed the 3 bolts in each wheel arch
- Removed the 2 bolts - one on each side of the lower bumper facing forwards
- Removed the 2 bolts - one on each side of the grill under the bonnet
- Removed the plastic gromits along the bottom
What have I missed?
or can I get away with removing the upper bumper and grill?
Its on a Lupo TDI
And feel free to call me an idiot - me and my two friends couldn't work it out at all!
-
Trying to remove the bumper from my Lupo Tdi but cannot work out what I am missing! I have removed the bolts round the arches, the ones on either side of the grill next to the headlights and the ones on each side in the bottom grill. I have also removed the plastic bolts underneath. Can anyone be of any help??? Have searched but the posts aren't helping so far.
-
Basically is this possible? If so has anyone done it?
Also does anyone have a pictures of where the rear speakers are in the GTI?
Thanks!!
-
I apologise if this has been asked before - if it has I'm obviously not searching for it properly.
Looking at wheels - whats the largest width on a set of 14's you can get away with a Lupo thats lowered say 40mm?

Hi
Any know what the part number is for the Fuel Cap Cover - the bit that forms part of the bodywork - I want to keep one standard and wrap another one.
Anyone?

How much for the rear beam?
Also what colour is the interior trim - I'm looking for what VW call the rear "door cards" so I can fit speakers
