  1. no its crushed

happened so fast, day after crash van came to take the car to garage for inspection, next day got a call saying its a write off. Went down next day to garage to collect stuff out the car and see inspection report. Wrang the Insurance next day to say could i buy it back, they said it had already gone to scrap yard. Week later a letter comming through from insurance saying they offered £1800 for the car. We wrote back to decline the offer and attached reciept for 1 week before for the price of MOT, Service, New Tyres & CAT, they came back week later with £2500. Week later money in bank.

    total about a month.

  3. you can check the chage easy your self with a volt meter which you can get from any tool shop for £5ish... or just nip to a local garage or electrical car place and they will have one and tell them you want to quickly check the bat is getting charge.

basically you put on end of the volter meter to one side of the bat and other wire from meter to the other side of bt and set meter to volts (not amps) with the dial on front normally to a setting around 50v (each meter has different setting). you should see a voltage across the batery of 12v is 11v 10v is fine etc then if you start the motor running and you will see this increase as the engine is reved.... im not sure what the voltage reading should be for a batery as ive never checked an over charge just to see if its getting charge but someone might know.

  4. Of course, they could never make them illegal! Its just been made harder to get them on to the V5 without an IVA. Thats all really.

    John

you always needed an IVA when changeing an engine on your log book this has always been the case.

sorry i got the wrong end of the stick..... engine conversions at home are illegal you need to get a garage to do it and need the following to change your logbook..

    * Receipt of purchase from a garage on headed paper confirming engine number, capacity and fuel type

    * If your existing engine has been converted, written evidence on headed paper from the garage who carried out the work.

    * An inspection report from a body such as the AA, RAC or qualified assessor.

    * An separate inspection report for insurance purposes

    * Written confirmation from the manufacturer confirming engine number and size

  5. A) He's either Not driving it hard enough or B) They didn't replace the thermostat and Temp sensor when they did the head gasket...

nope they will have just used a standard head gasget again.... they are know for it. mate a mine replaced his with an upraded after maket steel gasget made for a turbo and his has never gone since. garage only guarantee on new factory parts.... do it ya self with uprated stuff or take the uprate stuff to garage but they wound guarantee it

  6. i got my tracking done for £20 at local tyre garage.... this is just the tracking not the camber of my wheels as if i want to adjust the camber i have to fit a camber kit which is adjustable. Not sure if lupos are the same??

    Track:

The Track of a road vehicle is the distance at which both the front and rear wheels are disposed.

    Wheel tracking:

Wheel tracking works on the front wheels only. This check and adjustment makes sure that both front wheels are pointing in the same direction. If one wheel is out by 1mm then this wheel will scrub along the road surface.

    Wheel Alignment:

The alignment of the front and back wheels.

    Camber:

Camber is the angle in which the vehicle wheels sit withing the wheel arch and the road surface. This camber alters as suspention travel moves up and down. Lowering the car can adjust the camber and cause excessive tyre ware.

Each can be adjusted and effected by suspension setup changes. Some vehicles require additional modification to allow alteration of sections ie camber kits.
