So went to pick up my sisters car from the garage yesterday and alot of faffing about went home car-less!!! :-(
The guy selling the car said that he would sort out the warranty on the car and when i read the "terms and conditions" (i know...i'm a sad get for doing so) it stipulated in there that in order for the warranty to be valid the car would needed to be be serviced from a VAT registered dealer/garage, when i asked if he would provide a receipt for the full service that they carried out with the timing belt change (which i requested) the guy started coming out with excuses saying that the place he got it serviced and timing belt changed from was not a VAT registered garage and he would have to get "one of his mates" with a garage to say that he carried out the service and belt change, this threw me a bit and after trying to figure out why he didn't just get the service done from his mate instead of this other place he couldn't give me a proper answer.
Then after inspecting the engine oil it was exactly how i left it after the test drive, there was no signs that the service had been done, even the water in the radiator top-up looked like it hadn't been changed which made me question whether the service and timing belt had been done. I asked the guy for receipts of the timing belt and other parts needed for a service which he was unwilling to provide, in the end i didn't buy the car as I couldn't trust the guy selling the car!! Lost out on £80 (deposit) but at least didn't end up with a friday car ;-)
Therefore i'm on the lookout for a unmodded Lupo 1.4 if there's anyone out there selling one please get in touch ;-)
p.s i'm based in Preston
Dont blame u for not buying it mate never buy from a 2nd hand car dealer better to go private
