  1. Hi So our 1999 Lupo 1.4 16V Auto (AHW) engine blew. Could not find a replacement AHW Auto engine ( Auto engine has different crank to Manual version) So, hearing that people were upgrading to a later 1.4 16 with engine code BBY, we bought a BBY engine. Fitted...... Put key in ignition..... engine tries to turn over on starter, in the ON position.. I've checked all the plugs and they seem to be fine and impossible to get wrong.... Also noticed after I lock the car...then unlock using key in drivers door...the engine turns over for 3 seconds ( BUT does not fire up) Weird right? Any ideas how I can get this problem solved? Many thanks
  2. Thanks for your msgs guys :-) I have now found an engine. Cheers
  3. Hi guys! First off... We need a replacement AHW engine for our newly acquired Auto 1.4 16V. Anyone have one going cheap? We're in Sheffield, but could travel if it's a good engine :-) I've owned many water cooled VW's and currently use my rare MK1 Caddy SE for volunteer work with Stroke Association Support. Check out my latest mission : www.fastninja.co.uk The Caddy is coming off the road at end of month for extensive work, so we really need to get the Lupo up and running. On a really tight budget. Hope to find a good engine from a fellow Lupo-er! :-) Jay
