Snoopy
Don't want to worry you, but there's a possibility you've got a dodgy pedal box.If the car's still under warranty it's worth getting that fixed by VW.
Frankie
hmmm. i remember reading about that. not a cheap fix either.Just been searching the site for old posts about the pedal box. cant seem to find it. Can anybody tell me more? Do i remeber reading that it can be repaired by welding?

Red Lup Gti
yer, if you look at the brake resoirvoir tank, if its half full then the pipe for the clutch slave cylinder comes off of it half way up! thus meaning that when it falls below that it will start sucking in air! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />needs a good bleed! look in the ''how too'' section for info on bleeding clutch!! g40steve
Hi Sport is cable 1.4 petrol.Self adjusting? This could be your problem as they sieze up.Follow cable from gearbox back to bulkhead, large bulge about half way is adjuster, should be held in a cage.Ask VAG they should know.Steve. N13CAH
Mine went back to the garage 2 weeks ago to get the clutch adjusted.Couldn't always get it into second gear and biting point was nearly on the floor.Seems fine now. Frankie
Sounds similar to my problem being as biting point is about on the floor. seems worse today. selecting reverse without grinding is impossible and 1st is a bit of a b**ch. Local mechanic is taking a poke around in the morning. i havnt mentioned anything about pedal boxes and the such like, will leave it up to him to see what he comes back with.cheers guys, will let u know how i get on. Frankie
Had the loop looked at today. It is a cable clutch. Clutch needed adjustment, it is quite worn. So its cost me a tenner and w'ere runnin smooth again. Just a different biting point to get used to now.
