I had a chat with a bobby all of 7 hours ago and he told me if you dont declare your mods you are only covered for third party so if you crash they only pay out for the other side. It's not illegal but it's "apparently" not un-heard of for insurance companys to prosecute if you dont state what you have done.

This now makes it more confuing for me my mate was pulled over last night and was told that his pressed plates from Dubmeister were ILlEGAL too !?!?!?!? i think i may just avoid pressed plates for the time being.

The old bill where i live wouldnt let me put my plastic ones back on, even though they were on before they had finished writing my fine. Oh well lesson learn't the hard way!

Hi all just wondering if there is anywhere that anyone would advice getting some pressed plates from as i got a £60 fine for mine yesterday as they are apparently ILLEGAL, (something to do with having a D on!?) Total cost for plates £115.46

All i know is ive got the black plastic cover with "1.0mpi" on, two bolts to take it off, take 8 cross heads out of the bottom of that and there was two filters, i replaced them thinking that that was right thing to do???

I think i may have just made a very silly mistake just seen a picture on another thread where someone has put a K&N on a 1.0, my problem is i have replaced the ones in the rocka cover on top of the engine? should i have done that or just bought a cone??? Any advice greatly reicived ....

Hello all, bit about me 19 just got me first vw around 4 months ago after passing my test and i love it!! The car now has 82,000ish miles its had 2 lady owners from new, full VW service history, 2 folders of reciepts that cover everything from tires to little washer things. Price paid £1000 ok so far i have lowered it 40mm, green cotton panel filters, smoked side indicators, pressed plates and surrounds, some groovy red floor matts. Also had the VW logo tattooed on me leg as i love me car that much lol My to do list envolves having the bonnet, roof and boot vinyled matt black hopefully next week and then on the 29th ordering coilovers, then after that just going to get the standard wheels banded and re-furbed. BAD BITS: since owning the car i have already replaced; clutch, gearbox housing, hydraulic tappits, ignition leads, clutch cable, rear right damper, spark plugs. All to the value of around £1200. As is the norm with old lady owners there are a few scratches and one hideous scuff about 6 inch long that i have yet to find the money to sort. Alright thats a bit about me and a bit more about me car, got some audio gear and mk3 gti seats for sale if interested let me know.
