starbank
Go get a copy of this months VW Driver - the 5 page Lupo GTi feature is a good read, plus there's really stylish looking black Loop with anthracite wheels in there too!
Nicki
... and a rather stylish black GTi with a certain person (me!) stood next to it...Bloomin' good write up too!

tdwindustries
yes great article as it looks good for the lupo and lots of praise. Few things wrong though!!One I can remember is that the Lupo hasnt stopped production, GTI will continue!Congrats to Nicki and starbank style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
starbank
My only minor niggle was that they complained about the fact the speedo wasn't detailed enough i.e difficult to tell exactly what speed you are doing. Have to say it's never bothered me!
tdwindustries
Yeah forgot that! Never realised you were so old starbank style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
starbank
I'm only 33! I must admit I got a wee surprise when I did the maths! I've suggested to the Editor that they do a follow up road test comparing the Lupo Gti with the Mk 1 and Mk 2 Golf Gti. I think that would make entertaining reading! Ty
I dont think it is being stopped all the reports say it will contiune as its made on a seperate production line to the 'normal' loop
tdwindustries
Well thats right, but VW driver kept talking about it in the past tense which is slightly weird....
Ty
strange...... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
starbank
I think there maybe some confusion here - you do get the idea when you read the article that VW have indeed stopped production of the Lupo GTi. I contacted my local dealer and he informed me that Lupo Gti's are now only available in bog standard specification - that sounds to me like they are clearing out the old stock! However, as we all know the average VW dealer is not always up to speed with VW issues/information. Neil, if you can help on this one it would be appreciated. Ty
Yer would be good to clarify whats happening to the production spose we wont get an 'official' answer from anywhere!!
AndyW
After hearing many a different opinion from not very clued up dealers as to whether the car is still being made or not, then I'd only take word from the highest of sources. VW Press Office UK could tell us pretty quickly, does someone with a clublupo.co.uk addy want to email them? I'd do it right now but I have yet to chip and money to the cause yet style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />. AndyW
Thankyou Ty.Edited to say: If you like, you could ask for a breakdown of sales figures of the Lupo and GTi. A few years back MattyB got some info that was quite interesting, but as I said, that was now maybe 3 years back, sale figures of the GTi would be quite interesting to hear about. Upto you and how much you feel like bothering them I suppose. Edited June 13, 2005 by AndyW
