  6. Following on from above, since all my parts arrived, it's been raining constantly here so no install yet! When the time comes to fit the refurbished ESP steering sensor, do I have to have someone flash the software immediately before driving it or can I fit it then drive to my local VW independant and have them reset the system? Thanks Paul
  7. I changed the coolant temp sensor from genuine to aftermarket (green one) about 2 years ago as needle was jumping 0-90-issue resolved. 1 year later I noticed coolant leak from the sensor, changed for a new (aftermarket)sensor as I couldn't get the o ring separately-seal fixed but now only going 70c on the gauge. Foolishly I had binned the old working one but I thought I just had a faulty sensor so got a new one under warranty, changed this still the same issue. Was going to put a genuine temp sensor in place however I thought I would just change the thermostat too as it was old & maybe I had gotten unlucky for both issues to happen at same time, fitted new non genuine thermostat in (I know!) & the gauge is now going to 90c on the dash after say 7-10miles-Issue fixed I think. The 1st long run I went (150miles) the 1st 20miles the gauge is stuck to 90c as it should, after that it drops down to 70 & even goes below so I am thinking the coolant temperature sensor is faulty however at the end of the journey I check the temperature of coolant in the expansion bottle using the Mrs cooking thermometer & its 67c. Now when doing short journeys its not getting to 90c as it was when I had just changed the thermostat, the hottest i have gotten the coolant in the expansion bottle is 72c & I the range of the sensor is supposed to be 75-92c from what i can find online (so it sits at 90 on gauge). So is the thermostat stuck open & causing issues or do i have a faulty sensor? Can't find my infrared gun to check temperature of coolant at sender location which is helpful🤦‍♂️. Before I go waste £65 on a genuine coolant sensor is there anything else it can be or have I missed something? Car is still running fine & giving heat through vents. Cheers.
  8. There are unofficial sites that have versions of ETKA on them, though how up to date they are I don't know. The dealership I work for pays for ETKA as it's a VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda parts catalogue and meant for dealership use only
  9. Ah well, I guess I'll make a best guess with measuring it and seeing how it goes... I had to grind the head off the nozzle securing screw on one side - as expected, reading the forum - so will use a stainless hex-head screw to replace it and grease up the other side... Thanks for the info - is ETKA available to all, even as a paid service? Paul
  10. I've looked on ETKA and it is a seal that only comes with the whole unit, which is a pain as they are obsolete from VW now.
  11. Good morning all, Does anyone have an OEM part number (or new o-ring dimensions) for the seal on the extending part of the headlamp washer nozzle unit? I'm just refitting a new A/C condenser and compressor to fix a leaking heat exchanger and, replace a 20-odd year old compressor seal whilst everything is in bits. I do however, need to replace the o-ring in the nozzle to stop a leak from there when it's used but the old one is too worn to measure correctly. Is there somewhere online a parts catalogue for the Lupo that people are using?? Thanks! Paul
  12. Last week
  13. Just keep checking/topping up through the speedo pickup hole... cheap and cheerful solution that buys you time.
  14. If anyone has an old gti ball joint and a set of calipers, can we do some measuring? We might be onto something here that'll help gti owners the world over...
  15. For those looking at this; I changed out the oil seal at the weekend. The oil seal sits at the front of the green sleeve so if the sleeve is excessively damaged then you will most likely need a new sleeve. You can remove the oil seal without removing the green sleeve. Mine [the sleeve] was damaged but managed to refit with a new seal; hopefully no more leaks, but we'll have to monitor as the outer edge of the oil seal was showing in places. I did order a new sleeve for a POLO from the US but it doesn't arrive until June! (now April), so hoping it all holds out until at least then. Regards Rob
  16. The part numbers on the 9N ball joints are 6Q0 407 365M and 6Q0 407 366M Which is very similar to the Lupo Gti part numbers of 6E0 407 365 and 6E0 407 366 Although admittedly i'm no expert on the part numbers and what each letter/number represents, would this not suggest that they are pretty much one and the same? They do look identical to me
  17. For the mk4 golf alloys would I be able to use the bolts on my car? I assume I would have to buy some online. Many thanks
  18. Lupo gti Drivers Head light Ballast Or Complete Head Light...
  19. These won't fit as the Fox is a 5x100 pcd, same fitment as a 9N Polo, Mk4 Golf etc...
  20. Brilliant thanks for that,I'll give it a go 🤙
  21. Oh is that one of yours ?? I'm sure I used your SDI cam belt how-to. Really well written so thanks for that 🤙
  22. Brilliant thanks for the advice guys all went well. However seems like I've managed to mess the tracking, camber and caster angles.. how do I get them back in the ball park so I can get it set up properly.
  23. They are a bit battered but I'll hopefully be able to refurbish them and tidy them up. What would I need to get them to fit. I have a VW 2011 FOX
  24. Yeah, the arms are different- the inner bit where the bushes are. The ball joint end is the the exact same on all.
  25. Seems like a lot of rare car for the price but why are the photos so terrible (looks like screenshots from camera roll?) and no interior shots 🥴
  26. This guy lives about a mile from me, I can vouch for this Lupo, it is as clean as he says in his description, and if I had a spare £7k, I'd buy it!
