fooby
Any opinions on buying a high mileage tdi? I've found one for £1300 wit a fresh cam belt and one owner. Seems like a great price if Lupos stand the test of time. I know plenty of people who own other 1.9 TDi VWs that are double that and run strong. fooby
Lupo. Only other TDi I can see lower than that is an Arosa with front end crash damage for £800.
Rickpercy87
Yeah, they're quite rare. The guy with the front end damage is dreaming with that price in mind. Don't let it put you off. I got my arosa tdi for 1400 with 110k and fsh 1 owner. He had just spend 700 servicing it with cambelt brakes and a cat aswell. Don't rush into it. You'll find one. Make sure it's the £30 tax bracket too
jonny s
ive seen these with over 200k.... if well maintained they will last a long time. my 1.4 tdi is in the high mile club..... 180k.... runs and drives like less than half. prices are all over the place
fooby
Good to know, I'll have a little while until I have the means to Luponise myself so I'll keep a look out!
Kermit Girl
The Lupo TDI that my wife runs has clocked up 110k and is still running well - it has needed the usual wheel bearings and suspension bits and pieces but the engine and gearbox seem to be pretty reliable on them by all accounts. jonny s
they are good cars... but can have electrical problems. gearbox issues. talk it for a run and change the gears if it wont shift back down the gears but you can block change then back up the box. it will be on its way out. they are normally reliable tho. just use common sence when looking
