EPC light on

EPC light could mean lots of things, you need to get it decoded.

1) Find someone near you with VCDS and beg them to do it

2) Take it to a garage and pay them £20 to decode it

3) Buy the cheap USB Cable on eBay and download the Shareware version of VCDS Lite and decode it yourself (this sometimes takes a bit of fiddling about with settings to get it working)

it's recently had a new pedal box and cable but the EPC light was on before this was fitted, pressing the brake pedal makes no difference to the engine revs and the car runs and pulls well. There was a loose lead by the alternator which when connected lit the battery warning light, but I guess that's just another fault that needs resolving. Thanks everyone, I'll see an auto electrician this pm
