Arnold the Arosa Sport!

Found on Gumtree one afternoon for a very good price so made the hour and a half journey and brought the little gem!

Car was listed on Gumtree with a 'gearbox problem' and in need of TLC which was no problem as price was low enough and I wont be driving it until October 2014.

Gave it a clean behind the bumpers and lights whilst theyre off the car, Absolutely filthy behind there. Also got the metal polish out and had a quick attack of the exhaust to bring it back to life a bit!

Whilst the bumper was getting repaired i set to work on De-wipering and De-Bump striping as the rear wiper motor was broken and the bump-strips had lacquer peel!

Had a closer look at the 'gearbox problem' and discovered the pedal box bracket that holds the pedal box to the car had a crack in it so my dad made a steel bracket and bolted it into place.

So the 'Gearbox problem' is solved and the bumper has been seen too.

So the cleaning goodies came out and gave it a nice big wash.

Snowfoam

Rinse

Dry

Claybar

Polish

Seal

Wax

Tyre & Bumper gel
Interior shampoo

wet vac

If you have good eyes you'll be able to see my new rear seats sitting in place on some of the pictures..

The red and black ones are the standard arosa sport ones, they are the same shape etc as my GTI ones in my lupo and are very comfy! My new seats are in now though, pictures soon!

So I've had a bit of a buying spree this month which includes (clues):

- Seats ( From a hatchback VW with a 2010 plate )

- Wheels ( 15x7 et 40 )

- ( An exterior part from a Lupo GTI )

- ( An interior part from a Lupo GTI x4 )

Sweet gti in the first pic

Looked more like a GTI bumper conversion on a lower Lupo model as panels didn't seem to fit right and they're was no signs of an exhaust lol

My list of jobs that need doing!

- Clean the GTI seat belts which i got last week
- Fit underdash cupholders and remove the current cupholders
- New disks & pads all round as they are completely shot and very rusty as the car doesnt get used at the moment. [Will be doing the G60 280mm front brake conversion]
- Get a Seat Ibiza 6j gear knob, colour code the metal triangle on it and maybe a new gear gator then somehow get it to fit!

The next time you remove the rear door cards, can you post up some pictures of them, both front and back, I want to see how are the holes for the speakers.

It looks gorgeous so far. What speakers do you plan to add in the back?

Hahaa thanks should look good when it's finished!

Yes sure will, I have a picture of the rear speaker holes earlier on in the build thread but will get a few pictures of the front ones soon!

Not sure what speakers I'll be getting yet, can you recommend any?

I mean photos of the door card itself, want to see how the holes are drilled in the card.

I was thinking about OEM speakers from the breakers. Front size fits rear.

Oh I see, I'll try and get one for you later.

Personally though I'd defiantly get some aftermarket speakers as the stock speakers are pretty bad and would seem like a waste putting stock speakers in :/ Alpine speakers seem to be a very good price and have good reviews.
