Skezza
I know it's a separate box, but is it Immo2 or Immo3?Considering adapting a key but they changed how it works on Immo3 and it's significantly harder. I know some GTi's come with Immo3, but a standard V reg Lupo, surely Immo2 right?
danoid
Is it a separate box, or part of the cluster like some other VW's? Edited April 23, 2014 by danoid

danoid
Ooo, surely from the P/N you can determine what version it is?Have you got VCDS? Did read somewhere if you plug it in and select immobilizer module and it displays your VIN number then it's immo2

GeoffD
follow the black wire from around your ignition barrel it goes to a black box which is your immobiliser. it is usually screwed to the bottom part of the dash, unless of course someone with some sense has been in before you! best of.. geoff
Skezza
I had a look on ElsaWin:Self-diagnosis of immobilizer, Vehicles 05.00 >From model year 2001 the 3rd generation immobilizer has been introduced to the Lupo. So, pre 2001 models have Immo2, which means you can theoretically code your own keys at home. > 2001 have Immo3 which makes it harder. Skezza
can only be codded with the skc unfortuneatelySKC is easy to obtain on immo2. Not so easy on immo3 and that's why it's a pain.
