johnralphs
The forward tilt of the driver's seat has failed. When I lift the release handle, I can see that a flexible wire rotates a release mechanism at the tilt hinge on the off-side of the seat, but the flexible wire to the near-side of the seat is floppy and does nothing. It appears that the wire has become detached from the tilt handle near the top of the seat. Any suggestions please how to fix this ?
johnralphs
The elderly lady who uses this Lupo is up against a dealine in 3 weeks when the MOT is due. A failure of the tilt seat mechanism is now an MOT failure. She can't afford garage rates to fix this problem, so please help if you can. Thanks. arosa-beeftex
The part you want is called a Bowden Cable - and there are two, one long and the other short. Check with your local VW parts department for prices and see if they can tell you which is which. One is attached to the release lever - but that means you have to remove the seat cover to access it. I believe one of the two? white clips on the cable breaks.

Spartan535
Speak to a car trimmer, it's a very common problem and if you (they) have the right tools a very quick fix - a they may have the bits in too - saves you buying the wrong cable - had a Polo done a couple of years ago - maybe £30 - shop around? arosa-beeftex
A google search of 'Seat' seat proving difficult, found this instead - can't be too different. You only need to do the seat back or do as Spartan535 said. The part number MAY be 1J0881595B.
