Nice OE wheels!

Joe

Yes they are really nice.

I actually have one more set of eactly the same rims.

The original plan was to use the other set with a twist , but that failed.

So that plan may come at a later date

Today i have made a set of wheelbolts to.

Because of my adapters i had to modify the bolts as they bottomed on the breakdiscs/drums.

They where to long and i allmoust ruined one adaptorplate.

Now they are shortened and all good.

Now its just to await the Ebayfinds and see what that brings

Servicetime!
Some stuff bought.
Just good stuff for once , no ****.

Oil filter.
5w50 fully synthetic oil.
Door hinge driver side x2.
Bushings for doorstops driver's side.
NGK Spark Plug Platinum (same heat range).
Bosch Aerotwin wiper blades.
Fresh Airfilter for the inside.
Air filter for engine.

Then the gearbox is coming down again.
Will clean the gearbox and replace the clutch.
That's what you get when cheating while changing the clutch.

Doorhinges are crap!!!
But easyer then changing the "pins" , and they was cheap at the VW-shop.

I work at the local VW/Audi shop so i have pretty good discount when buing parts.
Can say that I anyway can not be bothered to change door pins for the price.
Know how they usually sit , so four screws per hinge are much easier.

Also hope to bring down consumption a little extra with the service..
Hope the NGK Platinum sparkplugs will do that , have tried before on another car.

Know they work.

Now there is 16" rims on the car at the moment..
But after the service, tires pumped and checked consumption.

Still NOT lowered unfortunately ............ but darn comfortably.
YES I'm a old man and i know it!

Sorry for poor english

Got the chance to try the AeroTwin Wipers? I had them on a previous car, liked them, but I heard they don't do good on Lupos

Yeah , i have had them on 3 cars now.

They work just fine i think , they are not supposed to go well on my Golf and Jetta Mk II either.

And was not avalible for my Skoda Octavia either before the "pinmount" , did not stop me

And the **** that's mounted on the loop now is the worst crap i ever seen.

Or not seen because the wipers "lift" of the windshield from the wind.

Learning by doing , i can allmoust certain say that they will work just fine.

They where not avalible either for the Lupo but i got a set that fit exactly as good with the same mounts!

You got the normal size for Loop?

YES , they where exactly the same in the listing.

But they where not listed for Lupo , so when ordering i had to check.

I will check how long they are when shippment arrives.

I have not really introduced myself

You could say i'm a VW-crazyperson or just mad.

But the truth is i like VW:s.

At the moment i have 1,2,3.......6st VW:s just now.

Jetta CL 1,6 75hp -87 , White.

Jetta Syncro 1,8 90hp -88 , White.

Golf GTi 16V 140hp -87 , Silvermetallic.

Golf GTi 16V 140hp -88 , Black.

Golf VR6 Syncro 190hp , Blumetallic(purple).

Lupo 1,4 16V 75hp -01 , Softblue.

The Black Golf GTi 16V is a dedicated "trackdaycar" althou streetlegal and with MOT.

The car has a full cage made for rallying with extra x-braces welded in.

No other interior then seats , cage and heater so you can do isracing in wintertime :swerve:

But then i have 2st "papercars" also.

They are still around on paper but just on paper.

I have the plates and the chassienumbers still soo.......yes :shifty:

They are:

Jetta GT 16V 140hp -87 , Green/Black(depending on MOT-written color).

Golf GTi 16V 140hp -88 , Red.

I have owned about 60 cars thru the years.

Volvo , VW and ONE odd Skoda that i sold just now.

That was a Skoda Octavia 1,8T -01 , nice BUT NO VW :shades:

Just a peoplemover.

So now some of you may understand a little bit more about the Lupoprodjekt.

The Loop IS STILL going to be my everydaycar to ride me and my daughter in around.

Still going to work around at winthertime in -40 and summer +35 degres.

So , yes quite mad but i love it.

I have attended Trackdays with Swedens VW-club since 1998.

Have been active in the same club since then too , in the running of the club for a couple of years to.

Now i'm only "active" to some point.

Had some work done.

With fever , but i was going crazy at home.

If after three massive strokes managed to change hinges on Lupo.
Have you ever made this..... Nahana thought so.
Without handbook or description.

Yes the door could be unscrewed.
Only two external screws so that was easy.

Then it was time for the hinges.
They sit with two screws from the door hole.
BUT ..... right here the engineer HAD A nasty brain hemorrhage at the designingmoment.
It sits 2 screws from inside the car and they sit really easy to.......NOT!
It says that one should remove the dashboard ..... to get to the bolts.
VHAT THE F**K , did it say said it???

I think NOT I said loudly.
I refuse to do that, it has to go.
Bad language a lot over and over

Started to remove all plastic fuse box and some other things.

Then you could get your hands in and see how it would fit with the tools ... in other words not at all.
Lower bolt went easy after checking how to loosen the handle for hoodopening.
Then it was just a coverlid and getting the right IN12 key that was needed.

Upper inside bolt....... damned idiot who installed it there.
Tear down all the plastic under dash and around the steering wheel and air emission / light switch.
Then you could see the cover anyway and think out HOW the hell to do.
Off with the cover and pull lightly at all to see if you could get the board just enough.
NO it did not work.

Since all front pockets are completely covered so I came up with a good solution.
You see nothing behind the trays when they are in place in front of the dashboard.
Drill was the answer , It solved the problem spot and now sits there the new hinges.
Now do you get a ratchet in place and just change the hinges!

No more noice from the doors.

No pics from changing the checkstrapbusches i'm sorry.

But they fitted just fin and is now quiet

So when in need you always come up with solutions

And here a pic from when i waited at the garage.

As i said , the other day i had the oil and olifilter changed!

So with that out of the way i wanted to start monitoring the fuelconsumption.

After the service(light) i checked.

Drove one full tank and got 0,57L / 10 kilometers.

That on 16" wheels and at aprox 110kph.

So now i need to change airfilter , sparkplugs and some other thing.

Then see if i can get it to go any cheeper before winter.
