mattarosa
I'll be doing it in the garage when my dads car isn't in there, I don't think he would appreciate black over the red.
Danyutz
I don't think he would appreciate black over the red. This is the outcome, excuse the dirt, been a long and full weekend, UPO has been on it's 1st time on the Transfagarasan Road. Took a trip to my parents' house and picked up the winter wheels ( as seen inside ).
mattarosa
you went on Ceausescu's folly! Not at all jealous What are the wheels and the sides look spot on now, mine have just started to flake a bit.
Danyutz
The wheels are standard 13" steels i bought the car with - pic in the 1st post, but I also bought a set of OEM wheel trims Transfagarasan is 60km away from me, but the weather there is poop most of the time and as much as i planned taking the car there over the summer, it was foggy or rained. The car handled the twisties like a charm, but that's what made me decide on the RARB - that will be the next technical investment. Also, with a full tank of gas, drove 480km, that's 6.2L/100km of twisties, 1 week in the city and 200km on the highway. For a 13yo car, 15" wheels, very pleased Edited October 20, 2014 by Danyutz
mattarosa
I think i'm going RARB next as well, mines only a 1 litre but meh I think it'll be worth it.
Danyutz
Me thinks that you get plenty of straight feedback from these small cars, even with the smaller engine - for me, the stability is way more important than the power. I've never revved the engine too much before, i always change between 2-3k, but the sound the engine does close to the redline was new and pleasant
mattarosa
Just something so I don't have to put my knee down in the corners lol and I cant lower it any due to my drive way, I scrape and so does skezza with his SDI.
Danyutz
Not even lowering springs? I know i won't be going lower than the eibachs i have - it would compromise the comfort too much - i already get plenty swearing on bad roads for going too slow. mattarosa
Its not the comfort its the fact that pulling in and out of my, garage mainly, but the drive as well causes the car to scrape, and neither of us drive recklessly into the garage. Just a note we don't live together we just work on each others cars.

lowrider
What tyres do you have right now? For a 1.4, 6.2/100 km in those conditions is more than decent. Last time I got home from college (~300 km, that crappy Defileul Jiului included), I got 5.2...

Danyutz
Started prepping the winter steels, sanded down the rust ( awful condition ) and the wheel trims, they get some fresh paint next week and will probably swap them. Sad days.
mattarosa
Not really, it would be sad days if you didn't swap them and the grit attacked them! I don't know if you Italians go crazy with salt like we do.

Danyutz
Oh c'mon! No hard feelings mate, we're close to Italy, like 3 countries and 2000km away
mattarosa
I still feel awful lol, How hard was it to fit your boot light? I have the bits, well Skezza has the bits for mine lol.
Danyutz
It isn't hard - as usual, the time consumer is removing the bits. Skezza would probably do it in a heartbeat.
