Hi all, new member (ish) first post, so bare with me. Here is my 2003 lupo gti. I took the train from the Scottish highlands to pick it up in early March. By the time I drove it home I realised it was in need of some tlc. I should have taken photos then to compare the before and after pics but here are some from today at Loch Ness after most of the work has been completed.

Done so far.

Windows tinted
New wheels and tyres
Keys cut & coded
LED brakelight
Bodywork fixed, arches, drivers door sill, front spoiler, boot dents repaired
Stubby Ariel
New camshaft
Warning lights fixed, slipring and brakeswitch
Mainbeam replaced
Brakelights fixed
AP Coilovers
Private plate
Leather gear gaitor
Mini ELM scanner
ELM WIFI scanner
Tablet headunit (still to arrive)
Dashcommand app
Tailored car mats (still to arrive)
GTI door sills
Pug GTI 6 rear badges
Electric window switch
Door cards
Carbon fibre mudflaps
Interior light and surround
Toe eye cover
Wolfsburg edition custom metal boot badge
Wolfsburg edition number plate surround
GTI dustcaps
Wolfsburg edition tax disc holder
Full service
Next up is a brake upgrade and reupholstering my spare set of door cards (fabric ideas welcome) the car also had a simota induction kit installed which I might upgrade to a cda. I have still yet to see a gti anywhere in the highlands so this might well be one of the only ones up here.. Oh and can someone please tell me where to get a check strap as my doors are creaking!

Yeh the frenchies are off the back now and replaced with this authentic effort.

Also got the new head unit installed with dashcommand running through the stereos own dedicated ipod touch which I installed onto the under shelfs ledge with heavy duty velcro so it can be removed for updating etc. Was a bit fiddly running the cable through without removing any dash parts but with a few cuts and scratches it all went well and looks good with no cables on show. The antenna for the gps went in behind the stereo and fixed under the dash and have had great coverage so far. The head unit also has full bluetooth control of my iphone so no need to connect via the cable which is great to have two devices connected at once.

Thats the Pioneer AppRadio im guessing? Looks very smart mate.

Whats the app called that your using there?

Yeh the pioneer mate. The app is dashcommand, a great app with lots of info. On itunes and android I believe. Use a wifi obd2 connector to sync with car.

Thanks

If you have an iphone or ipod touch make sure its 4th gen as the older ones don't work with the apps on the pioneer head unit. Also make sure you buy the wifi obd2 and not the bluetooth if you have an iphone as the bluetooth wont sync with it. Only buy the bluetooth one if you have another type of android phone or are happy with jailbraking your ipod.

I might get one of those obd2's, I've got the same headunit. Is it worth it, is the data interesting? I did fork out for the satnav and it's awsome.

Tidy looking example you have there.

Aye it's good but you have another £30 for the app too. No where near as good as vagcom but the data is pretty cool and it gives you fuel consumption etc. Every car gives different info from the ecu and the lupo gives a fair bit, you can change the dash boards to suit what data you want displayed. There is a race track option on it for times and stuff but I haven't looked into that yet, you can clear warning lights and view diagnostics. There is a skid pad and inclinometer but I have had not really looked into them either. All in all I would say it is worth it but others may not, I suppose it depends on what you would actually use it for and if that would justify the £50 on the app and obd2. Saying that if I had a warning light come on the dash I would plug it into vagcom before running diagnostics on dascommand as vagcom is obviously more advanced..
