harpy Posted March 11, 2013 Report Share Posted March 11, 2013 HiI recently purchased a Lupo GTI and the drivers side door hinge keeps making a noise everytime you open and close it it's like a clicking noise really annoying. Does anybody know how hard it would be replacing the hinge and where I could get the part from?Also it starts first time and drives spot on however the starter motor makes a noise after a second of starting it's like it sticks a bit any quick resolution to this other than replacing it? Pete91 Posted March 11, 2013 Report Share Posted March 11, 2013 The clicking is the check straps not the hinges and cost ~£15 each from VW. Really easy to change just need to remove a couple bits of trim if i remember right.The starter motor can be refurbed. I did a really quick job on mine (just lubed it up ) and it fixed the noise for about a month. I'm sure if i went back and did it properly then I could get it properly fixed though... For the starter motor all there is it two long bolts and a bunch of cables that need to come off. Once it's off just take it apart and clean/lube.
