GregGLupo
Finally got most of the big stripping and priming done! Just the fuel tank/lines and brake lines to get off underneath, empty the car of all the **** then get it on the spit!  also thinking of going down the polycarbonate window route! Can get all windows (ex windscreen) in 4mm polycarbonate for £170 with back 3 having a bronze tint! Thought they would be a lot more but st that price, definitely considering them! And picked up 4 Nankang semi slicks for cheapness! Will certainly do for this summer! (I'm hoping it's ready for then lol)
GregGLupo
Once the car is on the spit, silks will be back to bare metal too!
GregGLupo
Wasn't planning this til Monday but myself, dad and my mate got it sorted out on the spit this morning! Very glas I bought it now!
GregGLupo
Finally, Photobucket decides to work again.Bought a new sandblasting machine/new grinder and a face mask and set to work on these sills/the floor! Sandblasting underneath was going good untilI ran out of grit...so more on the way. Most of the paint/stonechip is off the sills then they'll be ready for sandblasting and repairing the dents etc!  Edited February 10, 2017 by GregGLupo
GregGLupo
Few more parts back from powder coating too! Edited February 10, 2017 by GregGLupo
GregGLupo
Since I don't have the booth anymore, had to hang some car sheeting to contain 90% of the grit. Should have done this to begin with  got 1 of 2 sills blasted and then etched to protect it for just now! shall get the other done too, then pull dents out and repair followed by primer! Some fresh brake lines made up by my mate tooAnd a before/after albeit different jacking points but you get the jist! Just some paint to order now for a bit of blue underneath and clearcoat and we're on the home straight for finishing underneath. GregGLupo
Tidied up some overspray this morning in the front arches and the first gloss black piece in place on the rear.. albeit just a exhaust hanger
GregGLupo
Made this photo as a before and after and Safe to say The graft was certainly worth it! Very chuffed!  Made a start with this rear beam. Removing excess powder coating,(noted from Bobby!)  they do farely coat up the parts with paint!  Still need to sort out snapped abs sensor bolts in the stub axles! Arsed!! Then me being a fussy fanny realised the yellow on the springs is a different yellow to the ARB's and not happy with the shockers so another few bits away getting blasted/coated! And just a wee bit of heat to get the front eye bolts on the ARB

GregGLupo
got the car off the spit again and started fitting up a few bits and bobs! Rear beam/subframe and arms all on along with a wee test fit of the custom 3" turbo back. Will need hangers adjusted but minimal work! Should have the front hubs away for powder coating soon and the springs for pps to redo as they did them a different yellow from arb's. And awaiting some HEL braided brake hoses!   Edited March 5, 2017 by GregGLupo

GregGLupo
finally got the engine mounts fabricated and had the engine bolted into place. Got the mounts back from powdercoating and a new power flex bush for the lower gearbox mount. GregGLupo
Bit of painting happened in the engine bay and then friend swapped over manifolds/turbo to ko4 setup last night. However have a slight issue with inlet manifold sticking out too far so can't fit throttle body... looking into cutting and shortening manifold to suit but need to speak to welder about this and see if it's feasible! 100mm gearbox cups on there way too and Just the n/s to shorten then car can go off for a while to get IC piping made up/ cage welded in and rear section of exhaust made up!
Rich
the polo gti (9n3) uses a manifold without the curve in it therefore it is ore compact and should sort out your issue.
GregGLupo
Shafts are off for modyfing so should have them back sooon. Also got the 100 mm gearbox cups fitted! And started cutting away at the back of the bumper to try and free up some space for the intercooler! Will be tight as a nuns fanny though. glad I got the windscreen removed too as there was some slight rusting under the bonding at then bottom of the A- pillar so can get that buffed back and primed! Most panels are down at work now, masked and ready to go. Just bumpers to prep and then all thats left to rub down is 1/4s and roof!  Edited April 18, 2017 by GregGLupo
