Do I match the Rms figures with amp & sub? Also if I was to buy this12" 2300W Phantom series subwooferDual 4-ohm voice coils (can be wired as 2-ohms or 8-ohms)Power Handling, RMS 1150 WattsPower Handling, Peak 2300 WattsCone material: Poly InjectionEfficiency 96dBFrequency response: 25 Hz-2.2khzMounting Depth 6-3/4How would I wire it. As my amp is 4ohm rms but I can't wire my sub as 4ohm??I'm so confuzzled and google doesn't help either. I've got both diagrams to wire as 2&8ohm but I don't want to blow another sub up!Thanks! IlsonDanni
For maximum power output, wire your Subwoofer as 2Ohm and then connect it to your Amp.From the Amp specs it should be able to operate through 4Ohms, 2Ohms and 1Ohm.If it still isn't clear I'll explain in more detail.... SupermanDan01
I did wire it like this But it was really distorted. I'll try another sub next week, as the sub I have might be ****ed
IlsonDanni
What are the gains of the amp on?It's possible that they're causing the distortion if they're turned up; turn them down?
