ElZ 16v
Going to be purchasing a set of 8j wheels And ordered 4 potenza 165 50 15's for them..My questions are How hard will it be for the tyre place to get that tyre on the rim? When/if it goes on is it likely to leak/come off the bead ? Iv searched and read a few topics on various forums but still sort of mixed views..Cheers

Dubmuffin
I run 36 in my tyres, but thats 165 on a 7.5, so you have an extra 7.75mm of stretch either side. I'm regretting buying my 185's today tbh.

I've got 165 50 on 7.5 (put on by the previous owner) and the rears need topped up every second day :'(
Philplop
I ran 165/50 Nankangs on 8'a for ages with no issues. If they're leaking, get them removed and the inside of the rim roughed up a bit, then some bead sealer on them.
Dubmuffin
As above, I've not topped mine up since I had them put on early november. If you are having issues, do the above, or in a really dire case, lump a tin of tyre weld in there. Don't expect your tyre fitter to be happy next time you take it in though! Pete91
It's my sister's boyfriends best mate so i'm hoping he'll be sound. He owns a tyre and exhaust garage but don't think he's got any experience fitting stretch. I've got no clue on how it's done so any tips on getting it right? Or just do the above? Is it that difficult?
ElZ 16v
No issues with mine leaking so far seems alright but getting them on took a few attempts
