The Dub Dub.

Hey all. Apparently build threads are the thing to do now so I thought I'd jump on the band wagon.

I'm fairly new to the dub scene- a toe in the water approach with an old shape A3 for a couple of months, which I swapped for a black 1.7 SDI Lupo at the end of October.

Vague spec when I got it:

108k on the clock

Lowered about 40mm on springs

Kink in the slam bar from a previous encounter meaning the indicator panel and front bumper is half clipped, half siliconed on

Standard (dirty) interior

Lovely double din head unit

Wired for an amp etc

This is how it stood:

Now I'm taking it slow as I'm saving for an Asia trip next year, which is why I'm only posting stuff up now. First thing I did was to lose the bump strips and de-badge the boot lid. For the sake of change I also stuck on some Arosa lights that my mate wasn't using, and because Cambridges are too much to justify spending at this point in time.

So then it looked something like this:

After that not a lot changed apart from the VW badge falling off somewhere on the motorway. Until yesterday when I picked up some oem roofbars for a steal :) The back seats are also out now in preparation for a big ol' boot build over christmas.

So that's hot it's sitting as of this lunch time :)

Plans for the future: exterior respray in fresco green, as the black is faaaaaaar from perfect, and the dude (a friend of mine) is going to smooth the boot lid, back bumper, front bumper inc. recess and fix up the front end entirely all at the same time (bought a new slam bar). If I get some nice christmas moneys I may well buy a new set of shoes off a mate.

As for the title "Dub Dub"? Just have to wait and see ;) Let me know what you think, any ideas etc :)

Boom, back after a bit. The car has had it's fresco respray and has had the front bumper, the side styling lines, and the boot badge recess smoothed. I decided to for go smoothing the boot lid handle as at the end of the day it's still only a daily and one day I'm gonna want to move it on...normal people either want a car that works without hassle, or one they can in turn do up :) anyways, photos.

Not really sure what's next as I'm on a ridiculously tight budget...the respray was a product of cunning negotiation and parts swapping, but hopefully I'll be able to get some new shoes for her before too long :)
