Dubmuffin
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes! What style locking wheels nuts you guys using? I'm going to invest in a set for my new alloys but after working in a garage and the amount of sockets I've used hammering them off cause they've rounded, I want a sturdy set. This doesn't mean I fancy paying silly money for something branded that is the same quality of a cheaper version.Merci
Silver!
Most people go for McGard. I am using the VW originals on both my cars and they are fine.Cheap ones may look the same as expensive branded, but you will be paying for better materials and more acurate cut heads and keys.Cheap ones round off for a reason. You will also need to get the correct seat.VW OEM uses radius seats and many aftermarket wheels use tapered or cone. Dubmuffin
I suppose £40 to potentially save £400 alloys is a small price to pay. But then again if somebody wants something enough, they'll just unbolt the hub or something
Silver!
Put it into perspective: £40 is a lot less than a night out and only a bit more than a computer game.
westie1
I snapped the socket on the standard ones with 3 prongs! they were crap, went vw and got the newer ones like a star shape. Not that much as far as I remember.
Silver!
If you are after OEM radius: http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/accessories/alloys/ZGB6N0071591A/wheel-bolt-locking-set?mark=all&previousCategory=alloysYou should ask LupoBoz.If you are after tapered\cone ask some of the other traders in the Marketplace.
