Adzer
removed both dash and wheel airbag from my lupo, anyone know what resistor can be used to keep the light off the dash?
m1cr08472
Couldn't you just remove the blub?
Pete91
Because it will technically fail the mot if the lights don't come on when the ignition is turned.
Adzer
i could but as above come the new mot regs it'll fail for the bulb not coming on when ignition turned on
lupogtiboy
I think it will fail for NOT having an airbag too....
Adzer
So in which case no rally cars gonna pass an mot as they all use aftermarket steering wheels and need to be road legal to get from stage to stage?
lupogtiboy
Check list of current regs herehttp://www.motester.co.uk/Home/MOTChecklist.aspx Edited December 1, 2012 by lupogtiboy
Adzer
they cant tell the dash airbag is missing unless they strip the dash, and doubt they can fail the steering wheel either.as long as the light comes on and goes out when engines started thats all im worried about
lupogtiboy
the big 'airbag' sign on the dash would give it away to me! Anyway, it will eventually fail an MOT with no steering wheel airbag present, at the moment it will result in an advisory, but its coming..... Pete91
the big 'airbag' sign on the dash would give it away to me! Hence him wanting to find the right resistor to turn it off
Adzer
Hence him wanting to find the right resistor to turn it off exactly, the resistor fools the airbag module into thinkint there is still airbag present in the system thus making the airbag light on the dash work as it would if the airbag was still present.only time will tell if it'll pass or fail i guess, but rally cars dont have airbags and need to be mot'd to get from stage to stage so does this mean that'll be the end of rallying
