Negative engine presure ? HELP

negative pressure help

When I say negative pressure, there is enough vacuum in the crankcase to make it difficult to remove the oil fill cap while the engine is idling (if i remove the dip stick it sucks like a hover),the car has smoke or steam coming out the exhaust ,i have just fitted the engine over the weekend and its a 2002 polo 1.0 mpi engine anyone any idear what the problem may be ? im going to do a compretion test tomorrow to see if its a blown head gasket but there is no water in the oil and i dont think it loseing any water

(My mate is a rac and I phoned him and he had never heard if it before ?)

I've never heard of this, usually the crankcase pressurises and spits the dipstick out of the tube, let us no what readings you get from your ct, also, not ideal to remove your filler cap while the engine is running anyways, but you no that already. Could be a blocked breather fault I guess but still not familiar with a real bad vacuum being caused.

Basically you have a breather pipe coming from the rocker cover that goes ino the engine cover/ air box. Then about an inch away from where that goes in the egr breather goes on. I don't think it'll solve your issues though but yeah , the right hand side of the engine cover there's two ports.

Could do with someone with the same engine to do a comparison check, I'd pm a few members if I were you, the title of your thread may put off quite a few members looking who aren't mechanically minded, all you need them to do is put their hand over their filler hole.
